We spent our birthday weekend in Napa this year, instead of the annual Ensenada cruise. Wonderful weather, wonderful, wine, wonderful people and wonderful memoriesÂ…Â….ahhh, I miss my breakfast in bed already!
Anyway, on Sunday, we started our tasting at Duckhorn winery. We are big fans of their wines and have done a couple of their wine dinners here in Vegas. We tasted and then headed off to Quintessa, where we were in the tour/tasting group just behind Danica Patrick, the IRL driver. Pretty cool!
After a fabulous lunch at Auberge (super stuffy place, but great food/view) and champagne, we headed to Paraduxx winery, sister company to Duckhorn. I bought Chris a case of their 2002 wine last year and it was the highlighted wine of the tasting. So, we asked for additional 2002 and headed out to the picnic/garden areas. Once there, we chatted, he told me to close my eyes and put out my hands. He placed a small box in my hand and told me to open my eyes. After telling me he thinks our cheeses have melted (you have to hear the melting pot story about the first ring) and saying we were like a “pair of ducks” (Paraduxx) he asked me to marry him!!!! We have no date planned, no locationÂ….just getting through the holidays at this point.
