For the night of the parade are there usually a lot of people on the shore with boats? Should you launch early or? Been many years since I have been there for that. I have heard that last year was not that good but my son will get a kick out of it.

If the weather holds, it's great. Last year was real cold and real windy which was no fun at all. I personally think it is better to just sit on shore without the boat. Take down a portable firepit some grub and you are good to go. I heard they have something like 60 boats signed up this year.....

Wow, that's quite a few boats. I was considering putting the boat in but I think I'll take your advice and just sit on shore.

Hoping it works out and we can go. Will just drive down to the channel. I still don't understand the channel mentality with boats. Go through all the trouble of launching and stuff just park the boat in the channel. If I need music in the channel I can take a boom box, I can also take a cooler and a couple of chairs for a lot less trouble and expense than pulling out the boat, launching, retrieving and then doing all the cleaning. If I put the boat in the water it is to actually go boating.

Cameron, the parade is Saturday night only this year. They are having a dress rehearsal on Friday night, but it isn't mandatory, and I'm not sure how many boats will be there.

I hope the wind doesn't get too bad. Here is what was issued for today and this evening.
Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 am PST /11 am
MST/ this morning to 7 PM PST /8 PM MST/ this evening...
A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 am PST /11 am MST/
this morning to 7 PM PST /8 PM MST/ this evening.
A weather disturbance diving south across Utah today will bring a
reinforcing shot of cool air and an increase in northerly winds.
North winds will increase over the lakes during the morning
hours...peaking at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph from mid
morning through early evening. The winds will begin to diminish
after sunset.
A lake Wind Advisory means that winds in excess of 25 mph will
create hazardous boating conditions on area lakes. The strong
winds will create choppy waters and generate large waves which
could capsize or swamp small craft.
Boaters should exercise caution if venturing out onto area lakes
during the advisory period...or consider postponing their
activities until after the winds subside. Avoid the open water
and stay close to shore or in protected coves and inlets.

Missed all of you last night for the parade... it was pretty quiet down there! All the boats looked great! It is windy today though so who knows what you will be up against... have fun and be safe!

just got home from the LHC boat parade and it sucked bad! Very cold with 35 mph wind gusts, and blowing sand. Stayed and watched about 30 boats go by, but after that I was out of there. The boats look really neat. I was like a ice cube when I got in my truck.
