You know if you watch that video it doesn't seem like that entire group was running balls to the walls like they do out here on the west coast. Seemed more like everyone was just kinda cruising along at about 1/2 the boats potential and staying with the group.
Seemed like a lot more responsible deal to do that with no PFD's, then what the guys do out here where everybody with a 496HO suddenly thinks their Robby Gordon and starts running their shit to the limit with a full crew..
Another difference I noticed in that video compared to the west coast poker runs is look how much room they have between the boats! Out here it seems that 20' side by side is more then enough room god forbid something should go wrong at 120mph.. These guys spaced each other out pretty good, and it didn't look like everyone was trying to win 1st place in something that's "not a race."
