Nice work! It looks like this guy spent all of his money on the TV so he had to use a little ladder for his intertainment center. :)

You run the wires thru/inside the walls.

Just curious, what equipment do you use to calibrate the TV's?

You run the wires thru/inside the walls.
Or you can just get some Krylon and paint them the same color as the walls. GOSH!!! :D :D :D

I believe Ghetto Fab would use Mexi-chrome on the wires to give them some bling, not matching paint to hide them. :D

The only thing I don't like about mounting TV/displays over a fireplace, is that the plasma is to high, after a while your neck will get stiff and can cause back problems because it is not a natural position. Once this happens, people tend to look up with just there eyes and not move there neck at all, this makes it worse and leads to headaches. The optimal place for any TV is at eye level when you are sitting down. It does look cool up there though.

I mounted ours above the fireplace in our old house. While it might not be the best viewing angle, it was the best place with the lay out of the room, and freed up a lot of space in the room vs. an entermainment center.
I never had a problem with any heat generated by the fireplace, as most of the heat went up the chimney, and the mantle shielded the space right above it.

We've installed many plasma's over the fireplace and havent had a single problem yet. Most of the heat go's up the chimney... but I'm sure some heat hits the plasma... not enough to hurt it though.
Yes it looks awsome over the fireplace, but not my first choice. Almost everyone for some odd reason wants the plasma to be mounted high. They change there mind as soon as i tell them that it's hard on the neck.

They all look very nice. But I got to ask how in the hell did you hide the cables on this one?

That is a hollow chamber behind the TV, the chimney is a 15" round pipe. Not like a old school deal where the entire behind the wall is chimney space. I have been told to offset the TV back in the wall or use a mantle to shield the heat. If the TV sticks out a bit then it can recieve damage from the heat.
Very clean work, I am interested in how you set a couple of the wall ones. Set up and drywall around the TV or set it to fit that tight? But then what holds it in, I enjoy seeing good work. I've done a couple of TV's for customers. very expensive and very time consuming. For a custom flush TV.
