Unless you have the right tools and bits in your shop, it will be way cheaper to buy them pre built...( nothing like shelling out $150-300 for a set of knifes you will only use once...)

b4 I forget... just having the right tools does not mean you know how to use them...I would be willing to bet that most "DIY" wood workers don't even know how to set up a saw so its sqaure and the fence is parell to the blade...

I am a door guy. Residential & commercial. Send me some specifics of what you are trying to do.
Depends on what type of door you are starting with & what you are trying to acomplish.
Interior or Exterior door.
Flush or stile & rail.
What locks are on the door now.

ok basic steps to setting up a table saw...( IE b4 you use it... also assuming you bought one that is worth anything... if its under $700... its not...they don't get good til about $1300 or so) b4 you can even think about sqauring a saw you need to make sure its level.
1 adjust the blade til its 1/2-2/3 of its total higth... then adjust it so its 90* to the table.
2 make sure that the blade stays 90* to the table thru out its total adjustment hight...
3 Adjust the blade so it is parrell to the t-slide traxs.
3a, go back to step 2 and make sure its still 90*
4 check to make sure it stays that way thru out the adjustment of the blade hight.
4a make sure the blade is still 90* to the table
5 adjust fence to be parrell to the blade.
5a .... do I need to say it...ok make sure the blade is both parrel to the t traxs and is at 90* to the table...
now lets talk about stock... if you don't have a well set up saw, jointer and planer... you can not mill stock to be strait and sqaure...

I spent two hours goin through this proccess a day ago with a "biesmeyer" set -up on a POS delta table saw.

:) unless your delta is about 5 years old... you may want to get rid of it... I have had and heard of others having nothing, but probs with thier newer saws... bought a powermatic... and could not be happier.
