I'm sure this will shock everyone but I kind of like it.
When I build my custom chopper it will have a Ducati 996 V-twin in it. I think that nothing sounds better than the Duc's, and I want to do some cool choppered out 996 SPS bodywork for it with a trestle frame.
I think it would be sick and also not tried before. I have seen some retro-rod Ducati's that I thought were pretty weak, but a full bore 996 based chopper would be bad ass in my book.

Ugly, Gay, you can't take it seriously as a chopper when it sounds like a weed eater either. Don't get me wrong sportbikes are badass, those motors make some juice, but they have no business in a chopper at least not a 4cyl

Im not diggin them. First off, they are fricken ugly. Second off, nothing sounds like a powerful big V twin. IMHO, the Bondo filled, molded in look was never cool anyways.
Now, about building a Duc chopper, I kind of like that. I have a buddy that built a early 60s dirttrack style with a Duc engine. The only problem is they kind of end up ugly because the Duc is a 90 degree V. It takes up a ton of chassis space. IMHO, nothing looks as good as a good ol 45 degree V.

I'm with you in principle... but imagine an Arlen-Ness meets Matt Hotch completely dragged out, squashed and stretched version of the 996 SPS. Let the front cylinder stick out past the frame on it a little and do some trick scooped radiator that mimics the shape of the original, but tucking way, way forward of the frame lower and towards the raked out front wheel.
Then, use wider versions of the Marchesini rims... complete with the single sided swingarm.
I do think those "choppers" are ugly, but admire the guy's intent.

Powerfull V-twin HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha
I like it in a sick kinda way
My last Harley was making 108hp and 122 ft lbs of torque out of a stock cased Twin Cam. Extremely reliable and 11s in the 1/4 on a bike that I could ride across country in comfort. Its not an R1, but that is pretty darn respectable and comfortable.
BTW, Ducati 1098s is making 160hp. It is an L design, but still considered a twin. Not too shabby.

He claims 23 years experience but only knowing how to work on a motorcycle going back 4 years
The bike will appeal to many people but I am not one of them. Looks alright and it sounds good. If you prefer that type of sound :)
I will stick to my Harley

That will go on the long list of thing I dont like but then again , I dont like alot of things but that dont make it cool or not cool . Choppers to me have always been based around the V-twin so I personally wouldnt consider that thing a chopper . If diffrent is cool , that is the coolest thing I've ever seen . To each his own I guess.

Seriously, how trick does that sound?
I think the full on water cooled 996 is the balls though. Just rumbles, and is an easy 140 hp totally reliable.

Looks like a real uncomfortable riding position with your legs tucked up like a frog. Midgets must like them.
