About ten of the guys from here at work have those (KTMs). Those are some really nice all around bikes. They all go riding a couple times a week. I wanted to get one to go riding too, but I can't reach the ground.

Looks like you're working on it all day long! :D
Totally different deal.....I grew up riding dirtbikes since I was 3 (just turned 30 BTW) and even raced GP's for a while. I've had SOOOOO much fun on my Rhino. It seriously has been one of the most fun toys I've ever bought.
Riding a bike is a lot of fun too....just different fun.
What did you guys pay for those suckers OTD?

Depending on terrain.... I generally run faster on my desert quad in the desert than my dirtbike in the dirt.
but on flat land...my bike will pull away from most quads...and most dirtbikes out there, just have to have huge balls to keep on it in the big end.

Actually my brother and I were pulling off all the smog crap. we were up in Big Bear that Thanksgiving weekend. A good friend of mine has a rhino. He Modded the hell out of it.. Its fun... I just dont see myself going hard all daylong without breaking something.. Seems like he broke something everyday. Still fun though.
We paid close to $10,000 per bike..

You guys seen the AWD Christini bike, based off the honda 4 stroke, they claim it works really well, i couldnt say, but they did a trick ass job of driving the front wheel on the thing. Got to check em out at the Endurocross here in vegas and they are a clean setup.

All these bikes are cool.
I've ridden modded 525's, not much can touch them, and you aren't throwing out a bunch of parts.
My friends tricked out 650R, faster than it should be, and smooth as a street bike.
These 450's (all of them) aren't that much after CR500's, but they sure stop and turn nice.
I'm still holding out for a CR500AF, but for me, it won't be a competitive supermoto bike, just a tire shredder.

They came out with a CR500 AFX in 2006 - which allows it to get a green sticker.

No interest in the X.
The Green/Red doesn't really bother me.
Both of my CR5's were Green. My 450 is Red.
I have both, it's never effected me, but, I can switch the stickers if I ever need to..

If you really want to talk horsepower.
ATK has a nice 700 out, it's a 2 stroke :D
Comes stock with Brembo's, Scott's, Talons, everything you need, except the balls to start it...

The 525's are some nice bikes. I prefer them for top end riding, and have riden a few that have been mod'd to supermoto bikes. As far as technical riding i would stick with a honda or yamaha, but desert or highspeed rides i would go with the KTM. I like the stance on them as far as how you sit on the tanks. KTM parts are sort of hard to come by though if you are out somewhere and break something as opposed to a honda/ yamaha. To me the Yamaha and Honda are equals. Ive been pretty impressed with the Suzuki's this year!
If your quad is faster going through the desert than your bike, i would venture to say its the rider and not the bike. Bikes are always faster.

That is a bad ass mofo.
I am gonna get a new CRF 450X in the next month or so. CR500AFX would be my dream bike...but for the kind of riding I do now...the 450 is a better match.
