got this in a email
California Highway Patrol will launch a 30-day speeding ticket frenzy in Orange County and Los Angles County starting January 25, 2006. The state estimates that 22 million dollars will be generated in speeding tickets. 3 million will go to pay California Highway Patrol officer overtime. There will be 90 California Highway Patrol officers on duty at all times patrolling the 7 freeways. They are the following: 73, 55, 105, 110, 133, 241, 57, 5, 405,605 and 710 freeways.
Now 7 mph above the limit can justify a ticket and every California Highway Patrol officers is supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 minutes.
They have issued 50 brand new unmarked Crown Victoria cruisers and they are bringing all their part timers on full time. If you live or work in Orange County or Los Angles County you must take one of their freeways. It's up to you how fast you are doing when they do. This is a test by the CHP to raise the extra funds for the State of California. The wealthy folks of Orange County and Los Angles County can afford this new tax. The California State Legislators dreamed up this law to help close the budget gap or something like that. I was told KICU-FM confirmed all of this. So be safe and don't forget speeding tickets are on you.

Nope. Not possible.
1. No unmarked(s) for enforcement, just for upper management.
2. No part-time positions.
Could be a different agency, as I don't know what other policies dictate.

Now how is that possible being that someone right here on ***boat got a ticket from a white crown vic with no lights just the other day?

That would be known as an SMPV. Specially Marked Patrol Vehicle. All white, LED forward red in front of the rear view mirror, and rear deck lights. Stickers on doors only. Still has push bumper on front and all antenna, plus one for CB. Mainly for commercial (truck) enforcement.
Not Unmarked.

There may be some truth to that. Driving out of LA on Saturday back to Phoenix, about every 10 miles the V1 was lit up like a Christmas tree, and this was ALL the way into Blythe. Hit Arizona and only saw one Highway Patrol and he had someone stopped going the other way in Quartzsite. Gotta love the V1 though. Picks 'em up so far out that it seems like a false alarm until it just keeps getting stronger and stronger. ;)
