You ain't gonna believe this, well, yes, it makes plenty of sense.
For his wide-reaching efforts to draw the world's attention to the dangers of global warming, Al Gore, Senator and former Vice President of the United States has been nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize
Norweigan Conservative Member of Parliament Boerge Brende, a former minister of environment and then of trade joined political opponent Heidi Soerensen of the Socialist Left Party to nominate Gore as well as Canadian Inuit activist Sheila Watt-Cloutier before the nomination deadline expired Thursday.

In 20 years when global warming becomes history that never happened, will they take his Nobel Prize back?

I'd vote to give it to him straight up if he'd promise to move over there, never leave and shut the hell up.

Hitler was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1938! Leading the campaign for years was the renowned author, Gertrude Stein.
As early as 1934, she told a reporter that Hitler should be awarded the Nobel peace prize. "I say that Hitler ought to have the peace prize, because he is removing all the elements of contest and of struggle from Germany. By driving out the Jews and the democratic and Left element, he is driving out everything that conduces to activity. That means peace ... By suppressing Jews ... he was ending struggle in Germany" (New York Times Magazine, May 6, 1934).
While Gertrude Stein's reputation may have declined, authors round the world, and as close to home as New Jersey, continue to promote her view that peace will be won by 'driving out the Jews'.

I wonder what people will be saying about Gore in about 65 years.....Either, Damm, he was right, or what a buffoon. When I heard about Hitler, I had doubts about the process of nominations for this award. Now I'm sure of it!!...Although Gore did invent the internet, right?..........MP

I got to thinking about that today, yea, he prolly deserves the Nobel for THAT.
This was being discussed on the radio and apparently he DID try to claim it on an interview with ole Ted Kopel. I'm doing some digging arround to see what I can substantiate. :D
Kopel tried to reign him in about 3 times apparently, but Gore just kept right on after it.
Since the internet really evolved from college resesrch scientists trying to comunicate and exchange data and information, I think his real connection is something very obscure approval of some equally obscure research funding for some no-longer interesting project or other. Get a 900 pound gorilla to stretch it to within a millimeter of it's life, and "I invented the internet".

March 9, 1999, interview with CNN host Wolf Blitzer, Gore accurately stated: "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."
It's not quite the twist of "I Invented The Internet", but it is pretty close, and not nearly as entertaining. :D

Too much cold or something?
Just announced today, the University of Minnesota is granting , yep, our man of the hour, Al Gore, an honnorary DOCTORATE for his global warming movie.
This is after electing a pro wrestler Governor (I actually like him), and you've got a commedian/writer/broadcaster/general failure at all 3 who wants to be a congressman.
WTF!??!?!?? :D
