I need some input on who to talk to for the best all around deal on Boat insurance... Boat US, who I'm with right now won't insure my new purchase.... Not their target market I guess...

I hear AAA Southern California Auto Club is now insuring up to a 28' cat. Great prices too. They are at the boat show.

Well my Aunt just got a quote for her 2005 Commander 28' Cat with $1 million coverage from AAA $1200 w/ $500 deductible. They are starting in March with AAA. When she gets her policy I will scan it for you so you can believe it!!!!!

Boat US turned me down. USAA, my main carrier turned me down but referred me to Progressive, but also warned my about Progressive's tactics. I ended up going with American National with a local agent here in Flagstaff after a referral from a fellow Donzi owner. I'm running a 22' with 500EFI.

Like Progressive they have a speed cut off of 70-75 MPH. Tell them 70 MPH, give them your motor(s) HP and hull weight and let them calculate the max. speed. If they calculate a speed greater then the cut off then they can't help, but their numbers are usually conservative.
