2 new boats are being built as we speak (21' Boston Whalers).
Another will be ordered tomorrow. (27' Crest Tritoon)
Awaiting word on a grant for 2 more new jet boats.

I'm not political (or PC) enough for elected office.

Neither. No shift work. I'll still be running the Boating Safety/Enforcement Division, and additional duties in expanding the School Resource program. I'll still get out on the water on a regular basis, including the Holiday weekends. I wouldn't give that up for the world.

There's some Federal Grants available for that operation. We're looking at a multi-state tactical team, made up of Officers and Agents from every Department and Agency that has jurisdiction on any water bodies within 1,000miles of the 909.

I did an acting Lt. thing for awhile.:)
All the stuff the regular Lt.'s told me was true.
-No more police work, just more trying to do the impossible with nothing.
-Stuck in the damn office all the time.
-It is a short trip from the Captain's Office to the Lt.'s dungeon when manure is succumbing to gravity.
-You will work overtime, ya just won't get paid for it.
It does, however, spank the base pay enough to help out your retirement.
And, as we get older and our patience with drunks, tweekers, and other assorted human debris deteriorates, perhaps it is a good thing to get off the beat.:D
