If not just come and get me and I'll make sure he gets up. Large spoon banging against a big pan works really well. :crossx:

That's not really a good idea at RD's house.....he would make me sleep on the patio for the rest of the weekend....possibly even the summer!! :(
Are you staying at JP's? Are you actually going to leave his house this time or are you going to be a snob like last time??? :) :)

Never been to Parker and new to the desert racing thing.
I'm looking for info on where to be Saturday morn with the wifie and little one to have a good vantage point.
Food, midway, restrooms but most importantly a great place to view the madness of these machines flyin around half outta control.
Do I need to buy tickets, passes or anything???
Any thoughts, cuz I'm a little lost here???
Cheers, Greg

It leaves from the Parker Airport and finishes at the Casino on the beach. As far as good, helicopter is the best, but thats not practical for everyone so there is a good place to watch, take Shea Rd. out about 5 miles or so, you'll see a bunch of people parked and can watch them go down the wash.

Will will be at our Parker house that is off Riverside drive. The race goes right by the house to the finish line which ends at the Bluewater Casino.
Stop by and say hello. If you do look for the house 3-4 down with a red ford truck and a blue yahama dirt bike. ( Lake side) We will be going down late Thursday night until Sunday night.

Greg, the race is pretty much wide open. The easiest place to watch from for everyone would be just off Shea rd. You'll turn East off Hwy 95 and take Shea rd. for a few miles. You'll see all the pits off to the right, can't miss it. Just pull off and park. They will have a few concessions and bathrooms set-up right behind pit rd. You'll also see a good section of jumps and turns from there. You should check out some of the washes, they're killer to watch from, it's best to follow someone to those spots if you're not familiar with the area.

Here is a link for the race map and spectator areas from BITD. It takes a minute or 2 to download.
http://www.bitd.com/pkr4252006/Map-Parker425-2006.pdf
Be sure to be in place to see the first vehicles come through ( you'll see them again on lap 2 and 3 but the first few trucks area always cool. Give yourself plenty of time to get there and get in place. The first truck goes off at 7:30 AM AZ time.
Figure at around 80 MPH average you can do the math based on the mile markers on the map when they'll be by. Don’t try to go out of the spectator areas ( 4x4, camp or walk) the BLM, Sheriff or CAP police will get you!!! It going to be real dusty too.
As for me, I'll be at the Blue water around lunch of Friday to pick up media credentials then later we are going to out by the farthest Bouse spectator area to camp. I'll be doing some free lance video and Photo, so we have the run of the course and access to remote pits. I'll post some pics after the race.
If you are racing be sure to give me your # and truck description and I'll do my best to get you on film! Hope to meet some HB'ers
