with all of his assistants going away to bigger and better things - a coach with only 1 year left on his contract is not luring any talent anyway. Probably best for both parties to part ways now...

Like I said many times "dont f--k with the bull or you will get the horns" and the bull in this case is AJ Smith. I pray we get a good coach like Payton in N.O., we'll see. NSF

Somebody is going to win a Super bowl next year with this team and look like a genius. If only they would hire me:D

Jimmy Johnsons name has been mentioned. Wonder if the former Steelers coach Cowher would come out of retirement???

I don't think it would happen BUT, Pete Carroll has been mentioned. He did meet with the Dolphins so I guess you never know. I'm not sure a college coach(even a very successful one) is the right way to go. Should be interesting.
GO BOLTS!

A coach like Cowher is the right fit. Strong defense, quarterback with limited experience, incredible running game....Sounds like a team he won the big game with.:D

PITTSBURGH STILL HAS THE RIGHTS TO COWHER THRU THE END OF NEXT SEASON. HE CANT MOVE TILL THEN OR SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TO PAY PITTSBURGH TO GET HIM

Wish they'd have done it a month ago and been able to keep some of the other coaches that left...........poor timing in my book.
They're saying because Marty declined the 1 yr extension the other coaches didn't feel secure so they bolted for greener pastures.
