What's it gonna cost you???
For me, no date, so probably nothing. I will be at the club though buying rounds for any good looking single women that happen to make it out...
Single... Lonely... Depressed... and Alcohol...
That could possibly work out in my favor. http://***boat.com/ubb/graemlins/idea_2.gif

I always hated going to eat on Valentines Day... unless it was somewhere way out of the city. A couple years ago, we waited to be seated for 4 hours at a place that would not do reservations, sat in the bar area... The bartender liked us a lot that night...

Since her birthday is the 11th, and now V-day (not to mention I've been gone for 71/2 of the last 9 months) I'm sheeling a little. Got her a gift certificate for an all day Spa treatment ($430), and ticket for Rascal Flatts, including VIP seating and dinner with the band ($300).
BUT, not only do I get to see the concert with my beautiful wife, but I'll get some fringe benefits as well:D

My chic and I made a deal last year after I spent a couple hundo on last minute flowers and stuffed animal. I told her I would rather just give her the cash every year. She said its no big deal to her, so we are staying home, cooking steak and crab legs and watching some TV.

Small little note to remember today on Valentines Day.
If you spent $1 - $50 at the boat show that equals at the least $75 be invested today.
If you spent $50 - $100 at the boat show that equals at the least $125 be invested today.
If you got a new boat at the show you are on your own!
I’m going for the good old roses and making dinner.

Since her Bday is on the 15th, it's hard not to combine them both, but I've learned the hard way not to.
We just got back from Vegas for her Bday present. That cost me almost $3K. But that doesn't count. Right...
I sent her off to work this morning with a heart chain bracelet. $50-
Tonight she gets a lamp that is a couple of roses for her night stand. Another $50. Some silk PJ's from Victoria Secret. $100. A picture of us in a heart shaped frame. $35. Pasta dinner at home with me and the kids. Priceless.

For the wife, I did the card thing, and a gift card for Victoria's Secret. That's the gift that reciprocates.
I think I spent more on my little sweethearts; a trip to the Disney store will break you these days.

I think that this is a mutual holiday and it should be 50 - 50. It is not all about her. Some people loose sight of this and will get pissed off if they do not get something.
My best suggestion for some of the new couple out there...... Flowers delivered to her work (So she can shine in front of everyone) is a super plus plus... and then if you can sneak over to her work to take her out to lunch, that is awesome too. Even if it is taco bell. The fact that you went out of your way to make it happen.
I work from home most of the time so that doesnt work for me anymore.
Husband bought something for "US" to share... I just get the suspense of not knowing what it is..... and I get to open the gift.
I bought the kids candy and cards 'cuz I love them too.
Bought the hubby a card and a CD that he wanted (Per his request awhile ago) and various chocolate covered items.
He wanted to cook dinner for me tonight but I told him NO... Only if we cook it together.
SO tonight we will have his brother, his wife and new born baby boy over for dinner since they are in town..... and we will be cooking dinner for both of them.
I just have to do the grocery shopping.
So all in all we are getting it done cheep. And I already have the wine, so we can get lucky later. woo hoo:D :jawdrop:

She called me as soon as she got them and I don't know if she has ever sounded happier;):) :D
First time I have had flowers delivered and we have been togher since 99.
We started a tradition a couple years back where we pick out a recipe and cook it togher at the house while having a nice bottle of wine. (We both hate eating out on V day:mad: )
