Its our last night of our trip, we'll be coming from Williams after seeing the grand canyon Friday enroute to vegas. We dont leave williams until 5:45 pm, so instead of driving all the way back to Vegas should we stop and see Laughlin if so what hotel. If not we were just gonna stay in Kingman. Thank again

Between the two I would pick Laughlin, or just drive all the way back to vegas, Kingman, id pass on thru

I would stop and stay over in Laughlin. Harrah's is probably the nicest, IMO. Or stay at one that has a river view. Have fun on your trip!

Laughlin is like a cultural mecca! There's the worlds biggest watch collection, and a few old cars to see.
I like to stay at the hotel that looks like a big river boat....whatever it was called. I haven't been there in a long time. I think it actually has a beach now. They've got some brewery bar and decent ribs on the bbq menu.
The only thing in Kingman is RiverKitty.

I would stay at the Ramada in Laughlin, and ask for oe of their "new rooms"....probably the nicest rooms in Laughlin now. Forget staying in Kingman...but make sure you stop by the Cracker Barrel Restaurant there for some down home country food...good stuff !!

The “Paddlewheel” looking Hotel and Casino is called the Colorado Belle. The casino is ok and there are some good restaurants upstairs. The hotel and casino is old but has quite a following.
Although I have NOT been there yet, the new Aquarius Hotel and Casino may be pretty nice, it was the Flamingo last summer and when I stayed there it was a toilet…I guess because the new owner was going to renovate the place so the old owners didn’t give a crap . There are some H/B peeps that have stayed at the new hotel…perhaps they can give their .02.
If you have kids, the Riverside has a bowling alley and arcade, the Aquarius has an arcade too but I don’t know which one is better. I am sure there are other hotels that cater to kids but I am not aware of them.
There is a mall (Horizons) across the street and is an ok place to kill time. There are several gas stations, mini markets and other services plus Bullhead City is right across the river (approx 15 minutes)
Laughlin is a very VERY small, mini Vegas, there are about 7 hotels and casinos and all but one sit right on the Colorado River (the Ramada Express is the one not on the river)
There isn’t the “excitement” that the strip delivers and it does not have the curb appeal of the Vegas casinos however, for a lay over and to do a little gambling, drinking and kick back, it’s not a bad little town.
We boat there (Lake Mojave is about 15 minutes away) two-three times a year and have had a good time, the river is fun too however it can get REAL shallow and the lake lice is horrific.
Personally, I like Laughlin better than Vegas because of the river and it seems a bit cleaner plus the help is nicer and no one is shoving porn down your throat (huge deal if you have kids with you) but Vegas sure has the party crowd...
Have fun!:D

I have never been to Kingman. I have been to Laughlin probably 25 times and never made it to Kingman. I don't think I'm missing anything either.:D

I wouldn't mind taking a run to Kingman if I was in Laughlin for several days and the wind was blowing hard (drop the boat/trailer. I here there is a ghost town there and some interesting 1800's history...

Oatman is pretty cool, kinda like the HB forums...just a bunch of jackasses hanging around with nothing better to do :D

Stay at the Ramada, center of the Laughlin strip. Not on the water side, but probably the nicest of the choices.

You should check out Laughlin. We have stayed at most of the hotels in Laughlin, Harrah's seems to be the nicest. Was in Kingman for the first time ever last month, nice town, just not much to do.

I would stay in Laughlin at the Aquaris. Just heard a ad on the radio and they did some major upgrades. Then for like two bucks you can take the water taxi in between the hotels and stop and party at each one of them. Kind of cool to party jump on a boat to the next casino and so on and so on.

The rooms at the Aquarius are still "toilets", but the booze in Laughlin is cheap enough to drink yourself into a stupor. or coma for that matter. They have completed the lobby and casino renovations and it's decent. Certainly more classy than the pink flamingo decor... Laughlin is about setting your expectations low, and having a good time. Cheap booze, food, gambling, and the river. Beats the hell out of Kingman!!

Laughlin is definitely worth checking out. It's nice to walk along the river to the (few) different casinos. Harrah's is probably the nicest but I love the Colorado Belle. We stay there every time we visit.... good rooms and good prices!
And stop at the Saltgrass Steakhouse in the Golden Nugget for dinner :)

Looks like the river may come up enough this weekend to go for a putt. 4 stations at 11am
Of course that's AFTER I replace a freeze plug in the bronco

Got back tonight, and it was a great weekend. Saturday, I had to replace 2 freeze plugs on the Bronco (of course it was 2 behind the motor mount!), but as soon as I finished, we hauled the Advantage down to Harry's for a check out. This is the first time in the water since the accident so although I'm confident the repairs were good, shit still happens. Water was a tad cold (ok, my legs were numb within 30 seconds). Idled out the channel, and all looked good, so I got it on plane and headed up river. Not really pushing it, it felt good to be on the water again.... 77 degrees and only 1 other boat out. Got on it on the way back and was only pulling 4700-4800 but that's with fuel from back in September, so fresh gas will be in order on the next run. It's better than any of you know to be back on the water.
River was slow coming up this morning, so we loaded up the bikes and headed for the reservation. My oldest took my Kaw out for the first time, the wife rode the 100 for the first time, and the youngest took a big step toward riding again, too. Excellent weekend.... hope this summer is better than last.... http://www.***boat.com/ubb/graemlins/idea_2.gif
