So they are making a non racing version now? What's the deal? Looks cool. Who is distributing them and what do they cost.
I know they haul ass.

Friggin ugly IMO, i remember when those boats first came out in the mid to early 90's, volvo made them as some kind of show off as to how fast you could get a boat to go with stock power, i think they did 80 or so with stock volvo stuff, one of the first boats to use step bottom i believe. I'd leave that thing for batman to drive.

That boat was in Ron's Billet booth. The design is derived from eropean style offshore boat. Step bottom designs have been around since the 60's.

The guys up the street from me always have a couple of these friggin things in their garage so maybe they have something to do with them. They are from British Columbia or something. Narrow, narrow beam and not my taste either but to each his own. NSF

The only way you could get one of these in the States was to rent them on a racing class basis. You show up and drive it in a race, but they own it. They are from Sweden and they haul ass. The are almost impossible to flip over as well. I think a personal version would be fun.

There was someone who was selling them in the US a few years back. He contacted me about doing graphics on them, they wanted me to do them for basically nothing so I passed on the offer. The name was Reinell (like the run a bout) or something like that.

There's a couple for sale in the back of Powerboat this month. One's a Volvo for 30 something and the other a 377 Scorpion (Volvo drive, I think) for 70 something. I've seen them in the trader before too. I've seen more used Reinels than used Cobra Venoms out there!
That drive sure seems to sit way down low, huh?

It seemed like after that thing hit the states as that volvo boat everyone jumped on the step bottom bandwagon within a couple years.
