Her sister is still alive, but she has been very depressed the last couple of days, they have been together since they were born. I think it will be a while before I get another :(

I'm sorry for your loss, a dog is the only thing that loves you more then it loves itself. I had to put down my 8 year old chow mix 2 years ago and still get misty thinking about it. My 2 mangey Border collies are sittin here with me, they're sorry too.

Sux to hear that. Had to put one of my female rotties down 2 months ago. Only 6 years old (cancer). You can tell her sister is still wondering why her best friend from birth isn't coming home. Best dogs I've ever had!!!

Sorry to hear this. I had a Rottie at one time and like everyone else says, they are the best dogs. I had to give her back to the breeder that I bought her from when she was 6 because she killed one of our sheep (sorry Lucky) and a couple goats. Once they do that, you can't turn them around. She was great with people, kids, other dogs too just not farm animals. Anyway, the lady I bought her from gave her to another breeder in Ontario who later that year got busted for animal cuelty. All her Rotties were at the pound in Pomona except Scarlett and were held as evidence her the case but My dog wasn't there. She said the dog had died. I feel guilty every day because I don't know what she went through and thought I was doing the right thing. It still angers me when I think about it.

So sorry to hear you had to put her down :( I love Rotts! She's in doggy heaven now w/ all the rest of the happy dogs chewing on bones and playing :D Although they are "just dogs" to some, they are apart of the family and hard to let go. :(

Bill, I wish I could find the words to make you feel better, but ultimately I know what it's like to lose a dog. Let me know if you want to go out for beers and talk.

Bill I'm so sorry. I know I already said that but it makes me sad when people lose their doggies:( I started crying last night because I knew what just happened to you and we're waiting on test results for Neva. I just couldn't imagine.

I'm really sorry for your loss...I know what you're going through. I had to put my 4 yr old down several years ago (cancer). It was awful. Four days before Xmas this year my 8 yr old lab died (suddenly and unexpectedly...the vet thinks she had a ruptured tumor on one of her organs). I've got a 10 yr old female Rott who recently has been having some issues. She's whining a bit when she gets up and we think it's her neck. Put her on an anti inflammatory drug and that has helped, but old age is creeping up on her and every time I think about it it kills me. We recently adopted a 7 yr old yellow lab as a companion for her. Again...sorry for your loss.

RIP Ruby
HEAVEN'S DOGGY-DOOR
My best friend closed his eyes last
night, As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through
my head, As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH...his many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends,
HE's installed a 'doggy-door"!
