I was watching the travel channel the other night. And they ranked Havasu as number five out of ten for Spring Break Hot spots. That episode was recorded in 2001, so I wonder if Lake Havasu is higher on the charts 6 years later. The Travel Channel gave all the credit to MTV for putting Havasu on the map for spring breakers.

Unfortunately MTV promoted it to the wrong element. Idiots who don't have a clue what boating is all about.

Exactly....
I saw the show too and it sure looked like it was filmed earlier than 2001. I was guessing mid 90's.

Yah it looked way out dated. It made havasu look pretty wack. Hopefully MTV never promotes it again.
Just curious.. I see dumb asses renting pontoon boats and house boats. Do they just give it to you with no training?

I would think Havasu is going to much busier this year for Spring Break. With the new laws in place at the border and requirement of a valid passport, I think it would keep some students on the Mainland rather than traveling out of the country.

It would be nice if they could take it off of the map.

One thing that always cracked me up was the guys at school who would goto Havasu for spring break, no boat, no lodging, no food, and no booze.
Then come home and say how bad it sucked... gee I wonder why?!

Passports are not going to reduce the number of pep's at the local towns..ie San Felipe. The border collages promote travel via tour buses to the local towns. Passports are not required by land travel.

I thought that if you walked across it was OK, however driving or air travel required a passport.
Guess I was wrong.

Someone should file a lawsuit against MTV to get them to stop promoting Havasu. Maybe less gangstas will make the drive if its not advertised?

Car or walking traffic only reqires a drivers licence (TJ only normally) . Air requires passport.
