I just bought a software program at staples for $200. and it sucks. had fun with it for about 2 hours drawing my house until its limitations and capabilities were reached. What is a good all around drafting type software that is user freindly and doesnt cost serious $$$$.

Try google sketchup. It's free and is pretty cool.

I have Autocad 2006, but at 3K it is a bit pricey. It permits a 3 dimensional image and the ability to view the drawing in variuos colors from ANY angle you like.

Whiteworks...what do you need done? I am a Landscape Architect and spend a good 8 to 10 hours a day in front of AutoCAD.

Microsoft's Visio will work, you can also conver the files into CAD and vise versa.
