Well, it must be something good if everyone is saying the same thing. I believed you though :)
Of course, it also depends on what kind of music they play. If it's all hip hop, I won't like it very much ;)

It mostly was, although the guy was bumpin some 80's on Thursday night. I guess he was staying at Nautical and pissed someone off, they tossed a bucket of water on his stereo and fried the Ipod cord so he was charging it off my boat. I didnt need it seemed as how my boat on full blast still wouldnt be able to hear my own music. :D

I am sure it puts out a good sound and loud. Needs some billet grills on the speakers. Kind of reminds me of that Advantage that was posted a year or so ago but only a little bit. He has to have some serious dollars in that setup.
I would take Matt/Jens over any stereo I have seen or heard before personally.

Looks like he/she is running some vents or horns...but either way...the whole seperates, with double mid bass's, and then large hitting subs is probably a sick combo.
Like the way the panels have been completely done from scratch to become enclosures and still the lines go with the interior theme..
Overkill would be some of those speaker machines that come out of Ultra (theme or sponsor boats)....this boat actually looks like it is using correct placement and alignment of drivers cutting across different frequencies...not overdriven with the same diameter drivers everywhere or in the same space..

We had phone problems all weekend....We didn't have Denise's phone with us so we didn't hear it until the next day....sorry for the mix-up. We ended up not going to Studio 54 but ended up in a club with an unusual number of friendly girls...some place called Sapphires.....see you this weekend...:D

Phat Matt

That is a real nice looking set up. It does look like he is running horns which will really project those highs. Getting the sound out of a boat like that is the tough thing but with the hatch set up it should get out nicely.
Now what the hell are those subs? :D I want to know the specs of the system.
I only have 2 12"s for bass on mine. (Although some people couldn't believe it) :) I do have 1200 watts going to each sub though. :D I wasn't going for the boomy rap boat. I just wanted it loud and clear.
Can't wait to hear and check out this boat.

I know I am a rookie when it comes to stereo's, but DAMN...
This was as crisp and clean as it was loud. That is the only reason I posted this, in comparision to P.M.'s. Yes I have heard loud stereos that can be heard from blocks away, but they sound like shit, I.E that channel barge.

Hi guys, someone told me about this forum today so I had to check it out. That Spectre is my boat... funny my name is Matt too, haha :). It took us 2 months to put the stereo in, and it was designed by my friend Bill who owns a yellow 27' Carrera Cat named "Shaft" that also has a stupid loud stereo. He actually got the next Spectre after mine, and is currently installing the same stereo in his so we can link them together and have 2X the insanity (and you thought it was loud now :)) The installer's name is Al Patel, and if anyone wants his contact info you can PM me for his phone number.
The stereo is comprised of 2 18" Image Dynamic Subs, 12 Mids, and 6 Horns running off an Eclipse head unit and an iPod with 10,000 songs on it. I dont even know how many amps he put in there, but I can assure you that there are a lot because we had to take up an entire wall of my only storage compartment to accomodate them, the wires and also created a ventilated cover to protect them. The stereo has a Zapco DB meter, and I am told it can hit 170 db, but I never felt like having my ear drums bleed so I will take his word for it. I run a Honda 1000 Generator off the back of the boat when we are parked because this kind of power will kill all 4 batteries in about 20 minutes. We attached an inverter to the batteries and plug the generator into it via an extention cord. Its a pretty easy setup to run, and we played it full tilt all day, everyday, and all night with NO issues (except the douche-bag hater that poured water on the deck unit at the Nautical which kinda falls under that John Travolta, car keying philosophy from "Pulp Fiction").
It would be fun to have a stereo war with Matt, but I wouldn't want to be the one who blows his subs through the hull of his boat while his amps are having a nuclear meltdown. Whether one is louder than the other, I can assure you that both can bring a woman to climax if shes sitting on the bow long enough.
Peace :)

Peace :)

I have seen the shaft boat out there before. I think we were both playing some Billy Idol in Copper Canyon late one evening. :)
Can't go wrong with ID subs. I like mine. :)

Nice boat I've seen it at SC's. Is Al Patel the same Al Patel that used to work at Competition Sound works in Cerritos? I think he went and reped for Alpine or somebody? None the less clean stereo.

Hi guys, someone told me about this forum today so I had to check it out. That Spectre is my boat... funny my name is Matt too, haha :). Nice meeting you and Kelly at Steamboat on Sunday Matt, although it was a bit tough to talk or hear  . I think Kelly's girlfriend signed my wife up for pole dancing aerobics...nice! See you out there.

alhadeff=longacres?
Yep, how did you know? That was like 17 years ago! Morris was my grandfather.
...Thanks for all the props on the stereo guys, its definitely getting the job done! Al is actually going to add a few more amps so we can crank the decklid speakers up even LOUDER! Now I just need to find myself a locking boat cover to stop the haters from destroying it at night when I finally go to sleep. I had one old man come yell at me with his fists shaking at 2 pm on Monday and tell me that "If I had a boat like this, I would be worried someone like me might come f--k it up tonight... you better have it tied up!" Haha... Sad.

Wow, that is so random... small world. What is your mom's name I will tell my parents!
OK... due to my inaccurancy I got the official specs from Bill via email on my stereo so here goes:
"2 Custom made Image dynamics 18 inch subs with 4 inch pole pieces for extra heat capacity.
12 6.5 custom made image dynamics mid bass speakers
6 cd2 image dynamics horn drivers
6 super tweeters
1 9.0 Zapco amp can produce up to 3500 watts
2 6.0 Zapco amps
2 4.0 Zapco amps
1 Fujitsu head unit with Ipod interface
1 Audio control epicenter
1 SXSL Zapco EQ with crossover built in
1 9.0 amp readout with custom controller from dash
4 Optima blue top batteries
200 Farahad Capacitors
1 Honda 2000 watt Generator ( not 1000 watt)
1 75 amp invertor
2 Stinger amperage readouts and 300 amp fuse holders
tons of 0 and 1 gauge stinger cable
Custom made almost 5 cubic foot woofer per 18 inch woofer boxes sealed enclosures with ports."
*** BTW after adding the 500 lbs or more of stereo equipment, my boat still ran 131-ish mph with 2 people riding on the ocean near Huntington Beach a few weeks ago. So you can pee your pants whilst your ears bleed like a chicago blue filet mignon!!! :)
