So, gas is at or over $3.00 a gallon already...will it make a difference for your boating this year? "They" say it will be over $4.50 by June.

Worst case scenario it will affect the hours I put on my boat running, but like last year it will not affect the number of times I head out. Just more time spent floating :D

Yes....the higher it goes, the more boating I will do...less crowds. :D

I didn't affect me last year, and wont again this year. I already pay high price for race fuel, and those don't fluctuate as much, so it should be relatively close. And for the tools that are going to say "What about your truck fuel?", the river is less than 15 minutes away. I'll do that trip 19 times round trip on one tank.

Nope. We already plan to go more this year!!
Really, what are you gonna do?

I spend most of the day parked on the beach or on my houseboat anyway... maybe do a few speed passes... but all in all, nope, won't affect me one bit.

I will probably only boat six days a week. Saturdays are too crowded anyway :D

We only boat two weekends a month anyways, so no. :)
(I wish it was only 3 a gallon, Shasta lake is 4.00+ right now I believe.)

Yes it will so we are going to store the boat at Spikes to help save on gas money!

I dont drive my personal truck during the week so I really dont have to put gas in it till the weekend, so i guess for me it wont. Thank god for company van pools.

Probably won't affect us this year. My commute went from 30 miles to 2 blocks at the end of last summer, so all that extra change goes into the river trip gas fund.

I'm thinking about going about putting an "in-line six" in the Kachina. I'm thinking a smaller motor should save gas money.

Nope, not at all, a full takn in the boat last us several days on the water. We cruise, find a cove and hang out for a while, I don't even break 45mph when I am out there. Hope the lake is less crowded because of the gas prices though.

My OB doesn't burn much. 23 gallons usually gets me through a 3 day weekend. However, my wife and I commute to work over 50 miles each way and spending more to get to work every day may cut into our fun buget.:(
Because my tow vehicle is an RV, we already quit doing day trips last year and I really didn't miss them. Overnight trips are more fun and, for me, an overnight multi day trip uses about the same amount of gas as a single day trip.

Diesel is again cheaper than regular around here....but not cuz diesel went down....
I think more time at the sandbar and less time buzzing up and down will be the norm for us. It doesn't seem to cost that much more, on a per day basis, but it does get noticeable when you go to fill up and its $150...:(

The price of gas will have no affect on my baoting. I wish someone would explain WTF is going on with the price of gas. It's not the price per barrel of oil. I have read in other forums that oil company profits are only 9 to 10 cents a gallon. Well how about now that the price of gas has jumped 60 cents a gallonb in the past 5 weeks. Again, WTF is going on??? The "price of gas roller coaster" is getting old. Real old.

Appearently you don't realize that they usually do pretty good in the economy area, so that isn't going to happen.

My 6.2 motor now seems like such the prudent choice:D ...........while all the big ballers with twin 525's will be sitting on the beach I'll be cruising the lake with the family sipping petrol.

About 25-28 hours, we get to Steamboat or another cove and spent most of the day there till it is time to get out.

our water toys don't burn much fuel and we have a gas card from my wifes work for personal use so it doesn't cost me. :D

Unfortunately yes it will. For me it is a little harsh on the wallet to drop $160 in fuel alone. Most likely will only get 2-4 runs this year, then I will pull the pump, and motor out.

Considering that I do not even have an engine in my boat right now,I should be saving a ton of gas.We will see in about 3 weeks when the motor comes back, how much she likes to drink.:D

We have all our trips already booked and paid for so it cant affect us too much. Will hurt the wallet for the 52 miles each way to work! Knew i should have bought the hybrid.
