TV news here (FWIW) says it's $50 a CARload, plus $25 per person to venture out onto the deathplexiglass.
Personally, I am boycotting it (cuz I'm a cheapazz), and have a problem with Native Indians ok-ing this venture, yet don't like "reclaimed" water making snow on Flagstaff's ski bowl.
That's my political complaint of the day.:)

Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad someone here has level thinking
They cry harmony with mother earth, nature and life except when it comes to them. I can half understand the casinos but to FLUCK up the side of one of natures most dramatic areas is just unbelievable.
Sadly the public will just go " oooh a new ride at the canyon let's go"
The stats I heard were:
100 miles round trip from any services ( this is the west canyon area)
$25 per person
$50 a car load to enter the rez
NO CAMERA's or cell phones

C'mon now, you really think that the Indian's tie with Mother Earth could be bought??? :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop:
You're damn right it can. Think back a few years when the 101 Pima freeway going across the reservation was nothing but overpasses. Strange thing about that freeway, and it seems to happen often, was that all proposed routes ended up going over sacred land, holy burial grounds, anicent ceremonial yada yada yada... They spent the majority of the allotted budget for the ENTIRE freeway making the sacred land worthy of a freeway, and with what was left, they built overpasses. It's amazing how big piles of money can restore holy land to regular dirt. Oh, and now that freeway does run right by 2 holy casinos. :notam: :)

This walk is located on the west end of the canyon. Head out of Kingman about an hour. From Havasu right at 2 hours.

We've been talking about going on it since last year. I thought it wasn't supposed to open until the 28th of this month but opened early to a few folks to be the first ones (like some astronaut or someone was supposed to be the first one on it).
Kinda sucks with the cost though. And I didn't know about the no camaras.:notam:

They are being greedy bastards about it. We drove out there last year to check it out. The drive SUX!!!!! It is about 20 miles of dirt road after you drive just about all the way out to Meadview. Once we got there we just wanted to show the kids the canyon and the new Skywalk being built. Since you used to be able to drive right up we had no idea they would stop us and demand $125 to take a tour bus 1 mile to the site. I predict they will be lowering their prices since that part of the canyon is not nearly as scenic as the South Rim. Most of their revenue is from Vegas tour companies that fly and bus people out for a good chunk of change. Nearly all the tours are packed with Japanese tourists.

It is more like 90 minutes plus and the last 15-20 miles are washboard dirt road. I just went out there last year and I drive from Kingman to Meadview all the time. Kingman to Meadview is almost an hour hauling ass. Oh, and there are tons of cows so drive carefully. I have almost nailed a few. People hit them all the time.

Pictures...
Wedding Proposes..
Breathing....
Use of bathrooms....( xtra for t/paper)
Burping....
Farting....(xtra for Queefn)
$25 bucks a person is somewhat acceptable, but $50 bucks a carload is a scam....That why I only do my gaming in Vegas....

A gal I know did the marketing on this... I saw all this stuff a long time ago... this same tribe allows helicopters to land at the bottom of the canyon and you take a little river trip on some pontoon boats...
Don't know if they are the same tribe as the Flagstaff... this one likes to make money..lol..
Interestingly enough... on the U.S. govt side of the Grand Canyon, not the native indian side you can't land a helecopter, there are height restrictions on plane and helicopter flight... etc... no such measures on the indian side, they control it and make the decisions.
The building that is going at the entrance to that thing hasn't been built yet..

I've got a few more to add
how long before some tree hugger trys to burn it down.
some one goes into a "panic attack" and sues
And just for hot boat...
How long before some one goes underneath it with a telescope so he can get his up skirt thrills.
and for $25 a head + 50 per car load...I'll pass.
I'm a native american and I find this type of thing to go against every thing they once beleaved.

Or you can fly out there, Grand Canyon West airport is now open to the public, but there is a 100 dollar landing fee... waived up course if you buy two 50 dollar shuttle bus tickets...
And I'm pretty sure the Hualapi have a big resort planned out there as well...
Silly white man will pay lots of money to come look at a big hole in the ground.
