WOW!!!! Could you imagine being on a nice leisurely cruise drinking beers on the deck when all of a sudden you are in swells like that?!?! Did it make it out of there without sinking?

Thats bad but I have been in worse. Back in the day we were in a typhoon in the Sea of Japan, Hunter killer group, any way the tin cans (destroyers) were coming out of the water so badly that you could see the whole propeller, at other times the entire sonar dome would be exposed on another wave. We took a 38 degree roll at one point and I thought that was it, scared the poop out of me:2purples: NSF

I have much respect for the sea..........it can eat you up in a nano-second.
I'll pass on that cruise, send me to Tahiti instead on a plane. :D

I seems to me the ferry would do better if the captain put the damn thing in gear and went forward or at least turn the thing with the sea instead of sideways. (abeam I think thats called)
Must be more to the story.
I was shocked cars did not fall out the sides:jawdrop:

On July 5, 1992 I was on a cruise to Mexico. After being at sea for about 15 hours we found ourselves in the eye of a hurricane. I don't beleve that the sea was quite that big, but I can say that 99% of the folks on board were held up in their rooms green. I had so much sea sick stuff in me that I was able to make my way to the front of the ship and watched the water come over the bow. I have great respect for the ocean.,

I was on the USS America in 1995 while in hurricane Felix.... the ship was all over the place and it was an aircraft carrier...... we were close to some other naval ships and I saw an LHD get hit so hard it lost an aircraft elevator.... it was in the down position because of maintnance.... they could not put it up because the only reason we were all at sea was the damage would be worse if hit while in port.... CRAZY stuff

in the comments it said it had no power.. engines down or something. Thats why it was just sitting there, hence the helicopter out watching it.
