Race hasnt started yet but what do you think about the new style cars? I dont like the style of the rear wing but if it works maybe they should use it. Car looks good on the track for sure.

Well lets see, it's Bristol which is generally collision central anyway, besides looking fast & furious, the cars look like they will pretty much lose parts right and left on impact. I'm thinking this is going to be one of the more entertaining races this year.:D

Trophy shelf :D :D :D
:D
Is it to keep the cars from drifting? Does the shelf serve to push the car onto the track?

............If this front plate set up turns the cars into a real bore.........I'm thinking, foot operated up and down pedals could spice things up a little..........

After watching that race, I believe it's primary purpose is cutting down tires on other peoples cars.

Not a lot of looks but I like the fact that they are safer. They have a taller roof so the driver is farther away. And the doors have a progressive crumple effect by having the roll bars offset from one another so all 4 hit at different times to soak up some of the energy from a crash. I think the wing and front end are there to try to prevent aero push. We will see if it works when they get to the mile + tracks. Dont like the looks at all. As far as I can figure nascar has been going down hill starting with the ending of racing back to the yellow......:(

Busch immeditely started baitching about how he hated the car after he won. Most of the drivers said it was hard to turn.

That's called a "splitter". Creates more downforce on the front of the car than using the air dam alone to keep air out from beneath the car. The faster the car goes, the more air piles up on top of it pressing the car down harder on the pavement and increasing traction in the corners. It's used in most forms of road racing, it's about time Cup cars stepped up.

As far as the rear wing goes, Raising up into cleaner air increases it's effectiveness. I prefer to think that the "Fast and the Furious" dickheads made a good design look foolish, not the other way around!
I think these little aero tricks will take a boring sport and make it at least a LITTLE bit more exciting... http://www.barbarawood.com/guestbook/images/smilies/flame.gif
