The narrows is plenty deep. I've only stayed in the basin around Hoover dam most of the time, but if want to explore go through the narrows and go past Temple bar. I know there some beach area up there and even further past that. Make sure to get a map and if you need fuel you can get some at Temple bar marina also.

While Mead is a big lake, you can cover a lot of it easily. With 160 mile range, you could easily go from LM Marina to Echo bay (~35 miles), then down to Temple Bar (~15 more miles), then towards big Sandy (East), and then back. That will have you cover pretty much all of the big areas of the lake.

Mead is a cool place with alot of shore line to explore. Camping is a kick. At night it is amazing to see how many jets fly into Vegas. Keep your eye on the sky line winds can come up at anytime.

There are still six (6) remaining marina's so you won't have any problems with fuel, but be sure to pick up a map at the marina store. There are over 1,000 miles of shorline to see if you want or had the time. Be sure to cruise over to the dam, its only about 3 miles from where you launch. A few fingers on your right going thru the narrows may have wild mountain goats feeding there, you have to look close, they blend in well. The marinas you will find on your map are; Lake Mead, Las Vegas Harbor, Calleville, Temple Bar and Echo. Disregard Overton, its closed. See you there Friday, 3-30-7
