NHRA has reveled that the injury to Eric was caused by vibration. The wall impact was not severe enough to inflict the injury. They said it involved tire shake, and/or some other source of vibration......Team Force spoke by phone to the other teams at Houston to relate a warning to them about it. What exactly caused it is unknown, or at least un told, at this time. An investigation is still under way using on board data downloads.........RIP Eric.

UPDATE: There was mention that the tire problem was at the top end. Also the chasis was broken. Which was first is still undecided. Goodyear has the tire, (what is left of it) for evaluation. He hit the wall at a slight angle, not enough to cause the injury.
