I put racing plugs in my 7.3,the turbo on all the time but when I need a little more power I just flip the blower on!

If you run octane booster does it work better?

Compression is pretty high in a diesel. Probably should run race fuel to be safe.

AV-gas works better, its cleaner so you don't worry about sludge... also I like to mix a little nitro fuel from my r/c car to give it a little boost..:)

Okay, since you insist.
The factory Beru spark plugs didnt really work that well. They only work for a short period of time when you first turn on the key. You need to remove these and drill and tap the existing hole to the appropriate size for your spark plug. They are located under the valve cover just above and between the injectors. You will then need to drill the valve cover for the 8mm wires that you will seal to the cover with Ford grey silicone. You will then need to use the hole in the block where the fuel pump is now located for the special retrofit lift type distributor Ford part # FZuradumbaZZ. Install a standard electric fuel pump from Napa. Clean tanks and fill with 92 octane gasoline. Use a duraspark ignition module from a 1977 Ford E-350 460 motor to round out the ignition system and you are ready to blow...er..go, yea, thats it. Good luck and let us know how it works!

I forgot, that was the procedure for the older IDI engines. The PSD is much simpler, no drilling required. All you have to do is remove the valve covers, follow the wiring harness under the covers to the large, square, plastic pieces. These wires are your spark plug wires and the plastic pieces are the coil packs. removed the screws under the coil packs that go into the head and gently pry up on the old plugs to remove. Install the new plugs in reverse order and reinstall the covers. The PSD spark plugs are about $320 apiece so if you didn't spend that much then you probably got the older IDI plugs. Oh yea, while you're there and have them out, be sure to install new piston return springs through the small hole where the spark plugs go into the head, you'll be glad you did, they really help to get that engine turning over easier!!
Good luck and have fun!!

FYI, I can sell them at $250 to HB peeps, but there is a $100 core per plug.

This is funny to read. I Used to have a '87 MBZ 300 D with the 6 cyl sedan Turbo engine in it.
One morning the glow plug controller went out and I needed to start it. I tried all you mentioned including nitro from my rc car.
Nothing worked.

Do you have an annoying rattling in your mufflers? Are they sagging a little? Don't quite sound right? That could be the symptoms of a worn muffler bearing. Allow me to introduce the KaleCoAuto muffler bearing! It's unique iron-graphite composite with pre-grease-packed assembly provides over 200,000 miles of smooth muffler operation! It is most likely they will outlast your mufflers. Also works well on heavy duty exhaust systems. One per muffler.
Must be true.....I read it on the Internet.....
