I have a 2005 2500 Suburban with 9'' lift and 37" tires. When I pull a heavy load my tranny temp. is about 200. The owners manual said not let it get over 200. Is there anything I can do to lower the operating temp. I also have 3:73 gears.

With those big tires you definitely want a larger tranny cooler. You might consider a gear change too as this will help relieve the stress on the trans.

He's a pro with the Chevy trannies and probably can set you up with a larger cooler that bolts in the stock location.
Good luck,
Chris

200 is pretty normal.
With stock tires and the stock tranny cooler my temps went over 220 on hills. I put a B&M tranny cooler, Mag Hi-Tech pan, and Swepco fluid in...now it rarely gets to 200.
I found that I can lower my temps simply by keeping my foot out of it, though.
If you heat it up...change the fluid more often.

Thanks guy's, I'm going to try the bigger cooler, cheeper than gears plus with a big block I wan't to keep the 3:73's or I won't even see 10mpg.

I agree with you on that one. Mike L is the man when it comes to transmissions. He'll be installing a Suncoast IV in my Allison someday...just hope its not too soon ;)
