Talk to Liquid Courage... he has done something like that to his boat. :)

Alot of owners of Express crusier, sportfishers, and yachts have added underwater lights in the last several years. That RED 40 Hallett at the LA
boat show had underwater lights on it. I thought about installing a set on my boat, but I never take the boat out after the sun goes down :D
I know that Perko came out with an underwater thru hull lights for 2007.

They had some nice LED ones at the boat show. The good ones go for about 1K and are housed in brass for saltwater. A Havasu boat could probably take something alot cheaper as long as it seals.

I think I remember seeing lights of some sort that would be under the waterline on the transom of a blue and orange Ultra 27 Shadow at the Pomona boat show last year.

You are right. That boat does have the underwater lights as well as the headlights too. I think the underwater ones are colored. It looks bitchen when it is running at night with the trim up a bit. They are very pricey. We were going to do them on my boat, but we do not have the boat in the water enough at night to use them.

It would be pretty sweet if they were color changing LED's that would flash to the stereo while you rolled through the channel at night:D

Those remind me of the boating version of neon lights under a car.
No thanks.

That would be trick for boating at night.
Lighting up the water all around your boat would be cool. Specially for
skinny dipping.

Well I was going to throw them on Stacy's rig and post it up later in an effort to be somewhat "original" (using that term loosely) LOL...
Dana rigged some up on an Eliminator a little while back, but they want 400'ish bucks for ea!

I went down to the fishing show in San Diego a few weeks back and ran into these guys. Their machinist was in the booth, and he said he'd make me a set of the "nano's" out of stainless (instead of bronze) for a minimal upcharge. The only reason I would want stainless is to better match the hardware on the back of the boat. I was going to stick them just above the cav plate hardware so at night when your in the water you can see where your stepping..
These are 125.00 each out of bronze for the small guys. Not sure what the upcharge for stainless is yet.

My dad has them on his Sport Fisher. They look cool at Catalina but in the slip in Newport they show how clean the water really is! We only use them while parked or cruising the harbour. At cruising speeds the boat pushes so much water there is nothing to help cool the lights.

why couldn't you use a 12V pool/spa light? I have two LEDs in my pool that change colors:

I was parked about two boats to the right of that guy that night. I went back out to the boat after dark, and noticed them on. Nobody was around, so I almost crawled inside to turn them off - figuring they had forgot. I decided not to, thinking they were probably LED and would not be using much juice.
