IMHO if gas then Yamaha.
Yamaha is an engine company and makes good engines.
They make a good cart too.
Most we know that have the EZGO gas are installing the Honda motor retro kit when the engine gets tired.
If elect toss a coin, but the EZGO seems to have a bit more pep, especially if ya put a back seat on it that issue becomes a BFD with the extra weight you'll be hauling.
We have an EZGO and love it.

Love my gas EZGO. The service at Premier in Havasu is great as well.

I have the EZ-GO gas cart. It's my second one. Very happy. I've never owned the Yamaha so I can't give you a comparison. I am very close to Premier in Havasu and their service is great.

I've got a 2002 Yamaha I'm trying to get rid of. Its has all new wheels, tires, paint, 7" dual a-arm lift, and is freshly tuned- up. Runs like a champ and is fairly fast. It also has 4 wheel factory brakes, which you will probably not find on any other cart. Really clean. $3500 (949)394-3737

Flip a coin. They are both good. The yamaha stock gas engine to me may be a little better than the EZ-go but both will do just fine. Now........if you wanna customize it then I'd go EZ-go all the way. There are a whole lot more aftermarket parts made for the EZ-go. Lift kits, accesories, etc......... Also if you ever decide to do a engine swap to a Honda V-twin IMO it is easier/cheaper to do on an EZ-go.
