The wife told me about this last night, I laughed, well chuckled, she got pissed off and said fix your own dinner. I said okay and went and bought food LOL. So i go upsatairs and find my clothes have been taken out of the washer and just dropped on the floor, damn it was tough to put them in the dryer. I paid myself $150.00 for doing it.:D
I'll be more then happy to take care of the house for 138k a year.

i am a former long haul truck driver and i have been a stay at home dad for the past 4 years..its not the toughest job i have had and none of the jobs listed are full time.
1. housekeeper: we have 4 kids and it only takes and hour or so to clean the house first thing in the morning and do a little before bedtime.
2. cook: does anyone really cook all or even most of their meals anymore??
3. day care center teacher: thats what the TV is for. :D
4. laundry machine operator: again not a tough job, toss the clothes in and hit the button.
5. van driver: with 4 kids in 3 different schools i am either picking up or dropping off someone every 2-3 hours, not that hard.
6. facilities manager: see "housekeeper".
7. janitor: see "housekeeper".
8. computer operator: posting in forums and looking at porn is not work.... next.
9. chief executive officer: how do they figure this one.. kind of a stretch.
10. psychologist: this isn't a stay at home mom job... its a parents job.
for the stay at home dads we should add in, vehicle, yard, house, maintenance and repairs.

Hocus said it best. She aint doing all the jobs all the time. Most of the jobs listed are worth about $10 per hour.
Now, lemme tell you what the man is worth.
On top of MAKING ALL THE FRIGGIN money (well some of us)......
-We fix, wax, clean, launch & drive the boat. Thats $90 per hour in real world money. Plus, private capts pull $50-60k a year.
-We take care of the cars. $60 per.
-We mow the lawn, do the yardwork, cut & stack the firewood, clean the gutters, rake the leaves, powerwash the house, fix the roof, paint the walls, move all the heavy stuff, pack the cars, clean the garage, cut down the dead trees, shovel the snow, move the dirt, take out the trash.....
I say cleaning the gutters is equal to at least a year of laundry......

In addition to the points above (and the $$$'s overinflated as hell), consider THIS. This "salary" is obviously before taking into account she is provided (and doesn't contribute ANYTHING financially):
A car
insurance
gasoline
mortgage
food
electric
water
clothes
makeup
trips/vacations
AND HALF OF EVERYTHING YOU OWN!

reciprocal psychologist services
cell phone
security
the potential of lots of $$ in life insurance benefits in the event of death
home from river driver while she sleeps
and - a good portion of that "salary" would go to the taxman
not much left after all of that........I'd say we better call it even

One thing is for sure.... I appreciate everything my wife does do.. Here are some:
- Cooking (about 4 meals a week and breakfast for the kids each day and usually a large breakfast for all the peeps on the weekend)
- Take the kids to school and attend many of the field trips (so she can participate in the kids education).
- All the laundry including folding and putting everything in its proper place.
- Clean the house (spic and span)
- Gives me facials and back rubs (about once a week)
- Goes to the Gym (so I have some eye candy to look at)
- Does all the bill paying and Grocery shopping
- Does all the planning and packing for vacations
- Does all the packing for the lake (including mine)
- Cleans the interior of the boat and cleans the Havasu house.
- AND MUCH MUCH MORE
The coolest thing is that she thinks $138k a year is WAY too much. We both seem to think it is more along the lines of 65-80k a year....
I know if my wife was going to go to work for less than 60k a year, then I wouldn't want her to do it... Her time in the house is worth more than that. Not to mention it is PRICELESS for our kids.:D
"Carry-On" Oh by the way she is packing now for Havi this weekend and I'm posting on HB.. That's Priceless too.:D
