Hey Guys,
Were looking for another hauling vehicle and I need to haul between 8-10k lbs and the Hummer is kinda under rated for that however I do like the vehicle. I wanted to see who has a hummer and what there hauling with it and how it handles it.
Thanks John

Go for the chevy diesel, why waiste your time with that gass hog. There was a post on here a little while ago. If you live in Cali and Haul 10k you will need a CDL. I here Hummers make for a good BBQ, started by Geen Piece.

I checked out the hummer and the escalate. I went with the infiiniti qx56 since it was lower price, just as nice if not nicer and it towed more than either one of those, 9100 lbs

Dang!
Hummers suck for everything IMO.....can't tow much, can't haul people or stuff, and the gas mileage sucks.
If you're towing a boat that weighs 10K, it would seem you would also be hauling the gang and all their stuff.......get a Suburban. Wish they could be had with a Duramax...I'd be at the dealer tomorrow.

if you tow something that is rated over the vechicle limit and have an accident your insurance will not cover you and if someone is injured you may face criminal charges even if the accident wasn't your fault
i had an H2 and loved it but so did the ex and she had a better lawyer :(

I have towed with a hummer several times. Usually just pulling the Hondo with the GMC. It has the fold up/down armrest thingy. Folds out of the way so she can do the hummer easier.

Well I have an F650 and Im not looking to get a 3/4ton or 1ton truck because I have the towing vehicle just looking for something more comfortable to drive around in on a regular basis. Yet I still need it to be able to haul the boats because we currently have two in stock and when were taking two around right now I have to run back and forth with the F650 to get them there.

We had a Yukon XL(GMC's Suburban) and it wouldn't do the job. We had to trade it for a dually.

How heavy was the boat? Was it a 3/4 ton Suburban? I will need to replace my Excursion one of these days. I had a 3/4T burb a long time ago, it did OK with a 26' boat.
I guess I could buy a PSD crew cab, but I sure do like the extra seat and room of an Ex/Burb.....
GM needs to stuff a Duramax in the Suburban.

I have towed my 28 Nordic for a few seasons. I love my H2 and I am sad to get rid of it. I don't drive it to worry about the cost of the fuel. If I couldn't afford it I wouldn't have it.. As far as its ability to tow my boat, it does fine. I'd rather not tow with it though, so I just ordered a new 07 Chevy Diesel.
Not sure I will tow 10000 with an H2. Bit too much. Its not geared for that and it would be screaming on any hill.

I second that. I love my H2 and will get another one. My boat is 28 feet and it tows it just fine. The truck (not a station wagon hater :D ) is super comfortable for road trips. It has plenty of room to stretch out. I would recommend it highly. And the new 2008 I think is rated to tow up to 8500 lbs. I would love to see a Duramax with an Alison in it but I think we will have to wait. I say “DO IT”…you won’t be sorry.
