He also may have some of the larger 61" sets, but they are 720p, instead of 1080i at $2,200.

Sounds like a good price :) ... We didn't sell many of the first pedestals, so we only special order them when someone wants one..
Those tv's have a good picure :)

Not if is the Elite, or has been pro calibrated. Plasmas are nice and are getting close to CRT quality, but they are still not there. If there was a plasma I was going to get, it would be the Pio Elite though.

His airbrushed Canadian flag artwork on the aluminum is pretty impressive though. ;)

Thats a great deal I was looking at the 1080I. I think it was a 52 inch. They wanted $3000. Thanks for the info.

Yes, they did, but that does not mean that the people that have them have an inferior picture quality display. When SED comes out, CRT might be replaced as the best PQ display, we will just have to wait and see.

Just passing along a good deal that I was lucky to find to my fellow HB peeps to do with it what they will
I personally would like to see more people on the boards do this, as long as it is not personal spam. Sort of like a Product/Service referral directory

You're absolutely right... The pro730hd and the Mitsubishi Diamond are my favorite CRT bigscreens :) HD looks great on them ;)
SED is canon/Toshiba, right?

No doubt, especially when you can get a newer, larger model with pedestal for $2,400 !! :)

All "HLR" models are the same model year.... The first 8 in yours signifies it's a pedistal model. the second 8 signifies that it's 1080p....
So the HRL5078W is a current 50" Samsung tabletop DLP that displays 1080p :)

Yes, but others are entering the game. Who would have ever though there would be so many different display technologies 15 years ago. The CRT sure has lasted a long time, it is sad to see it go when nothing out there can perform as well yet. Hopefully, somebody out there will come out with a technology that can.

I thought $3600. was a deal when I bought my 46" samsung dlp 2 years ago. Every time I buy something............something new comes out bigger, better and cheaper.
