I read a related story on this. The owner of the station is getting out of that location and turning the property back over to Shell. He's pissed about how Shell runs their franchise operations so he jacked the price up over 4.00 a gallon. His reasoning is "Every time somebody sees that price, they see the Shell name right next to it. If that keeps them from buying from Shell in the future then I've done my job".

Yea same here. Actually the station just dropped diesel down .05 this last week to 2.99. I remember last summer diesel was the most expensive, above premium and now thank God it is the cheapest.

there is a station in livermore that sells diesel for $2.89. watch them go out one morning and raise the gas .05 and drop the diesel .05 had a smile on my face. i fill up 3-4 times a week = 90+ gallons.
