I am looking for some help from all the ULTRA fans! I Purchased a Boat this boat from someone down in the Ozarks. It is a 2001 28ft Ultra when I purchased the boat he told me it was on the cover of HOT BOAT in 2001 so I am looking to get a copy of that magazine. Any help or leads would be much apperciated! Thanks Clint

Do you have any pics of the deck of the boat? I remember a closed bow Ultra on the cover a few years back with a single strip on the deck.

PM ULTRA28 here on the boards. That is John West the owner of Ultra Boats. He should be able to help you out. You can always call down to the shop too at 619-443-1100. Nice boat by the way and welcome to the family.:)

Hey thanks! I do really love the boat! The only down fall that I dont like is the swim platform on the back. Here in Iowa we tie up out in the water so using the little platform on the back is very slippery when wet!! And very small compared to some of the other boats that I have had. Other than that I LOVE it!

Your welcome. You know if you want you can go to www.danamarineproducts.com and they have the steps to replace the ones you have and they will have the rubber inserts in them so they are not slippery. Very simple jsut unbolt the old ones and bolt in the new ones. Just a thought. Dana Marine supplies Ultra with all of the billet hardware.

Does anyone have any experince in putting some subs underneath the side seats in the cabin? I have 4 Alpine 12s under the rear seat and I dont think they slam as hard as they should so I think I might put 2 up in the cabin. Any suggestions?

My last 27 and also this 27 my subs are under the cuddy seat. It is perfect because you do not see them and they do not take up any space. My stereo was done by Martin at Advanced Audio. He is the main guy for all the stereos done for Ultra. You can call him anytime and ask him questions about the install. Pretty simple though. Martin @ 619-590-9123.

Did you hide them and then just run a port out the side?

Yes they are hidden below the seat in a custom box. On my boat there is a gap between the seat and the side of the boat at the top of the seat. Martin cut a section out of that for the subs. They are W6 12 inch JL's and they hit real hard and clear.

I just put 4 speakers and a head unit in my boat last night. Made a neat center console for the head and 2 speakers and the other 2 speakers are under the rear seat.
I wish I had the room for 4 subs.:D Ill have to figure out something because I hate bass tubes and right now that looks the route I may have to go. I want the bass but Id rather have room for storage.

I have 4 alpine 12s under the reaer seat and i dont think they really sound that great. A few years ago I had a 21ft baja with a lil cuddy and I only had 2 12s in there and rocked the heck out of the boat. They were just in a box bungee corded to the fron so the box wouldnt roll all over!
