I want to get my dad a ride in an old fighter plane for Father's Day. I found a place in Carlsbad that offers rides in T-6 Texans, but I would love to get him in a P-51. Anyone have any suggestions?

There's a fly-in at Watsonville next weekend. You might check with the airport administrator and see if they will be having P-fitty one rides. I know they will be having B-17 and B-25 rides as they did from Moffett yesterday and today.

There was a guy about a month ago that was auctioning off P-51 and Stearman rides for some warbird museum benefit. I just tried to find it and couldn't but I'll keep looking...

You can have a ball in the old T-6. Great plane for aerobatics. Plus, they have dual controls so Pop can fly it too.

Chino Airport has em. My old man did it once. Cool times. I have a ride waiting for me in a British Tiger Moth (open cockpit biplane, famous for sinking the Bismark, I'm told. ) :D

Anyone have any suggestions?I'm a private pilot, as of a few years ago 2 or 3. Chuck Hall Aviation in Ramona Ca. Might give you a ride in Six Shooter for about $250.00 I don't know anymore. Chuck is a great guy, Gave one of my friends that had Cancer a ride in the P-51. I grew up in ramona it was great watching Chuck make hard passes over Town. I watched him at like 500 Knots Buzz the air field while I was trying to do my run-up in a 118 hp. n/a Lycoming Tomahawk
Funny is..........Droping 10gal of fuel so
I wasn't over gross wt. With my flight instructor. That focker should have been on a diet.......:D

There were only 16 dual seat P51's made, just a few still available for flight.
