I see them every year in Laguna Canyon, too. Seems like a good idea.

Goats are great for brush clearing. Just turn them loose on some property and let them go. Don't put out any food and they will clean up the area in no time.
Believe it or not, one of the most profitable businesses I have ever seen was run by a family friend and had to do with goats. He actually had a brush clearing company. he would send his guys out and put up an electric fence all the way around people's property to contain the goats. He would charge for this service. He usually bought goats for about $15.00 a goat as a baby. He would keep each goat about a year then turn around and sell the goats to local butchers for $50.00 a goat. The average rate of a goat was $1.00 per day. The goat would pay for itself within the first month. He then would have 11 months worth of free and clear work from the goat. When the time came, turn them in and collect another $50.00. No food, no vet bills, very little overhead. When you have a business that has around 1k goats, you make pretty good money!!! :)
