View Full Version : Checked out the 46foot Skater with the turbines this weekend.

That sweet ass 46 Skater was sitting at the Sandbar this weekend so my buddy and I decided to walk over and check it out. The owner Craig was real cool, shot the shit with me for a while and even threw me a beer. That boat is just unbelievable. He said it will run 200mph.
I should have taken some photos. If some one has a pic, I would like to see it. Thanks.

I know, that is why I asked if someone has some they can post. It is hard to carry a camera when all you have on is a speedo. :D :D :D
The boat sounded great going across the lake. I am not sure any piston boats wanted to challenge.

My money would be on Havasu Springs for the Desert Storm lunch run.
That boat had people stuck to the windows at the poker run - even the ladies stopped yapping to check it out.
The last boat I've ever seen with that much "dang" factor was Sorceror - when that fuggin boat fired, windows shook.

My buddy and I were at the Turtle on Friday afternoon the weekend of the DS poker run and that guy fired it up and idled out of the Nautical cove. EVERYONE at the NT stopped and gawked at it. I thought it was a helicopter getting ready to take off but here comes this thing. It sounded downright wicked when he fired it up.

He does have a 40 and 2 others.:D
The one at sandbar looked like it didn't have as much white on it, and it didn't say "My Way". Maybe he removed the vinyl.:confused:

I was told that there is another 40' skater in his garage with 1500 hp lycomings in it. That other thread listed above shows a picture of it and it's
not the white one. I was told he was a real nice guy who leases jets to
movie stars etc. NIce!

That is why he had Skater build him another trailer. That trailer was junk. And Skater repainted the boat to get rid of 'My Way'. It was also on the deck.

Guys. Thats the old (well the 2nd) MyWay out of Ontario Canada. Its an 02 46 Skater. Lycoming T-53 turbines. Merc 6's. SCS crashboxes w/ electric/hydraulic brakes to allow shifting. It is the 2nd turbine skater the original built. As far as I know he ( the orignal owner) has had it to 185 w/ more in it. Said that was enough for him. I was in it at 172 and in one word it is unreal. The acceleration from the turbines from roughly 100 on is unmatched. They just pull and pull and pull. It can be run on Jet-a, kerosene, deisel, a combination of gasoline and deisel i believe. Pretty versatile.
2500+ hours before rebuilds. and you can pretty much set it on cruise control at 170 w/out having to worry about hurting a motor.
He's inthe process of building something even bigger and faster at the moment.

I sure hope that guy has a nicer house then the one in the background. That boat is probably worth 20X what that house is, especially in WA.
On another note, that boat is bad!

The house in the pic with 'My Way' on the side was either the orig owner's house or just a house in the pic.
As far as the houses that the new owner has...Miami, Havasu, Spokane, Coeur d'Alene (2). If he was selling then the house in Havasu would be the cheapest price (1.5mil). Need I say more?

Pretty much the same deal w/ MyWay's original owner. 5-8mil camp up in the 1000 isles, huge house from what i ve heard in ONt, Can, this ~10 mil pad on the ICW in Lauderdale, with his other boat in the boackground (86' Sunseeker) which is rightfully named "Her Way"
i just ask myself everyday what I'm doing wrong.

Me too buddy, me too. I've figured it out though. Like JBB all you have to do is be friends, that way you get rides in the toys, but don't make the payments. Thats the way to do it.:)
