Damn I Miss The Old Days!

Just finished watchin' "Two Lane Blacktop" from beginnin' to end for the first time in decades! I miss my '56 Chevy 150 Wagon! The whine of the Muncie M22 "Rockcrusher"; the roar of the open headers; Friday night (or was it Saturday night?) RWYB at Lion's; "Cruise Night" out on Van Nuys; smell of burnin' rubber; 39 CENTS A GALLON HIGH OCTANE PREMIUM GAS! Oh; and we can't forget those moments in the back seat and "passion pit" at the drive-in movies; can we? I'm gonna go sit in the Suburban and make "vroom-vroom" noises. Maybe that will get me outta my funk. :p

Murph, damn, thot nobody was still on here as old as me. Was raised in the Valley51, turnin' 52 in May. The wife says I'm 51, turnin' 12 in May. I think she knows me too well after bein' together for the last 33 years, 29 of it married! Damn I've been eatin' that woman's cookin' a long time! When were you "growin' up" in the Valley? Usedf to hit Van Nuys every Wed. night from '71 thru '73 while goin' to Glendale Community College. Made it back a few times later; until the b**tards shut it down! There was some impressive iron runnin' out there! Talked to a guy in the Hemet Wal-Mart the othert night wearin' a "Lion's Dragstrip" retro t-shirt. Gotta get me one of those!
