My girlfriend has a 2000 VW Jetta 2.0L non turbo. She just had a new a/c compresser and condenser put in the car. When the A/C was on it would stutter in first gear off the line. I took out the old Champion plugs and put in new Bosch plugs yesterday. After that it idels fine, if you hold it at 2000 rpms its fine. But if you put your foot into it it stutters all the way up the rpms untill you get to 3500. If you drive the car it has very little power and is stuttering up till 3500 rpms and then she takes off. And now it has a check engine light on. How do I get the code to call VW?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

IAC is the Idle Air control motor.
Is the car a manual trans?
If so I would say she needs a clutch. Sounds as if its slipping which causes loss of power applied and a shudder.
Should be completely unrelated to AC work unless they set the old compressor on top ofthe motor and spilled all the old oil from it onto the bell housing and got the flywheel wet with oil. Boy that's reaching.
On edit - I reread your post and you could have an Auto trans issue. Definatley need the code pulled. Could be a trans cylinoid or the like.

defently not a clutch. its a stutter like a miss. no power. not slipping. and it is a 5 speed.
