With all due respect to BoatCop and all other LE that do such a fine and dilligent job of keepin' us all safe on the waterways and streets....tell me that this isn't the ugliest boat you ever saw when it makes that quick u-turn, pulls in behind you, and "lights-u-up"!

I hate to post a serious response to this thread but I will pose that I prefer the CV-23HT (CV-23 hard top) to the CVT-23 (Scimitar) because the CV-23HT has a cabin and the Scimitar does not.

Check out the available colors. Metalflake blue or metalflake orange. Nice. They were just ahead of the times and I know I saw metalflake on a DCB at the show this year. :D :D :D

At least Carlson used his imagination. There are a butt load of boats out there that are all the same design and have been for decades. These days most of the mainstream builders worry about new graphic configs, speaker pods and a speedo for each passenger.

Definately. Kinda like Nostradamus. He designed the CVX to take a 260 when V6 outboards were still on the drawing board.

I'm not a fan of the windshield and roof w/t-tops deal. But look at the rest of the boat. The built in swim step, the deck lines, & the engine hatch. A lot of the boats built now have similar lines as this boat does. IMO...Art Carlson was way ahead of his times.

So true Tom. Its a shame they dont "borrow" enough of them. 2010 will be here before long and we are still seeing the basic Cat style hull unchanged.
Doesnt anyone want to be a little different in this market? There are obviously big risks involved with new hull designs and ideas that could lead to failure. Didnt all the early pioneers go through this? Its a shame fancy isignia's, graphics and wire tires are what set the standard these days.
Here is an old C hull. I think this rig was just stolen out of Texas.

I'm going to sound old here, but I remember going to the OC boat show with my parents and seeing this thing. I thought it was the coolest boat there. They bought a 23 cabin cruiser instead (glastron). Too bad, I still dig it today! (but I'm a little off beat). It'd be cool to find one in decent shape today (not that I'd buy it)

At least you were with your parents, the boat I'm driving now(purchased new in 1980) was the second choice to buying one of those Scimitars. But I couldn't swing the extra money
