IÂ’m about ready to pull the trigger on a boat, but it is already named and the wife and kids do not like the current name of the boat and want to put our name on it. Can anyone recommend someone that can remove the current name and be able to put our name on it?
I have in the Chino area.
Thanks

I had a boat painter tell me to use Pam oven cleaner once. I ended up having the detail guy remove it.

I've heard EZ Off Oven Cleaner works although have never tried it.

PM Billy B., he is the resident painter on the boards.
His shop is in Upland BTW
He has posted about this in the how to section.
Mandie's deal seemed to work as well.

Took the old name off of ours. I was told by our local detail guru to use rubbing compound and have at it. Keep it very moist. Mine came off beautifully, just alot of elbow grease.

I used a towel soaked in paint thinner and rubbing compound and "LOTS" of elbow grease to get the registration numbers off. Cost me $2.00.

We use easy off oven cleaner on our customers boats to take names off.
Just use masking tape and tape off the area you want taken off, spray easy off and let sit for 10-15 minutes sometimes longer if it's been on for awhile, using an old credit card or the like, simply go back and forth as it will peel right off...................put a quality wax back on the boat when finished. :D

First, approach a dock at a 20 degree angle with the port side of your boat, hit the throttle, make sure your fenders are not out....once it scrapes completely clean, repeat with the starboard side.
Oh, sorry, this is how to remove the registration numbers:D

I heard something about having to do a whole ceremony for renaming a boat??
But that might just be for ocean going vessels.....something about pleasing the sea gods??
As for removing painted letters That I know.
