First set nothing could be done to prevent, accidents happen. I'll admit I'm the last person who should lecture on speeding; how many have had Police come to your house because of driving complaints? I have, enough said!
When I tow anything, I not only make sure everything is secured and sitting on the trailer correctly. I follow the speed limits, sometimes even a little under. I've seen far too many morons flying at levels even I consider speeding when I'm in my Porsche... Bet a little effort in securing and loading that boat properly and following the speed limits, would have prevented that from happening...

I'm thinking not many. If the cops are coming to your door because of driving complaints, maybe you need to re-think your driving.

Yeah, the people in the white truck heard a noise while traveling down the highway, they turned on the cargo light to see if they could identify what caused the noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Needless to say, the occupants of the truck were quite surprised to see that there had been a malfunction in the securing of the boat in tow......
In the first pic, you'll notice the cargo light is indeed illuminated, to further back this up....
LMAO :D

Did you notice the guy in the port stern corner. This was posted on another fishing website. My guess is a sling broke at the bow and thats all she wrote. Additional the fishing website mentioned this has happened before to the same company, somewhere in the middle east.

Does anyone have the story on the white truck towing the Sleekcraft? That has to suck in both cases.
Lue that looks like the one that happened about a couple of years ago off of Palo Verde N. here in Havasu. I believe there was some speed involved (being that it is 25 mph zone) and the boat was not strapped correctly.
My neighbor was out for the aftermath and told me about it.

That's like a mini-Titanic experience for those guys. How scary would that have been?!
zudnic and H20Advantage said it, strapping the boat securely and watching the towing speed is so important. Those guys in the second set of photos probably needed to stop short and the boat came off the back.
Short story but demonstrates how dangerous speed and improperly securing the boat can be.
My ex-boss has a friend who owned a boat. Her husband was driving (towing the boat on a freeway), she was napping in the passenger seat (leaning to the window), the kids were sleeping in the back (the seats were down so they were laying flat).
A semi truck came down the on ramp, its speed was slower than the husband had anticipated. The husband was going too fast.
He rear ended the semi...
The boat came off the trailor...
Went through their vehicle...
And split her husband's head in half. (The kids were unharmed because they were laying down.) The wife woke up (she had avoided the impact of the boat because she was leaning towards the window) and saw the demise of her husband and FREAKED (as I would too). She wass...never quite the same after that experience.
I'm not sure if this fateful accident could have been prevented at all but please be safe out there.

Sunseeker = POS
Larger boats should not be made of basically plastic IMO, aluminum is a better/stronger material.
If this Sunseeker had been made of a stronger material like aluminum, it would likely not be a pile of garbage that it now is.
$3 million for a plastic toy boat? Crazy.

the sunseeker was dropped when they unloaded it from a ship it fell 100 ft to the concrete.. the crane boom collapsed.. the boom landed on top of the boat.. crushing it even more:eek:
