I just called the LHC Marina to see where I could launch my "silent" 37' Formula cruiser. I said silent because the only way I know if the motors are even are is to look at the tach gauges, you cant hear a thing.
I called to see if they had any slips, which there are none, then I asked if I could launch. I was told it is way too long.
I then nicely asked where they would suggest is the best place I launch my boat. I was told Site 6 would be their recommendation.
I know I cant launch at Site 6. Could I do it, yes, put pulling out 21,500# on that ramp seems impossible.
I thought it is BS to try and get me to launch there. F you marina for your horrible advice! Great service you are doing for the city.

Let me know if you're going to 6 as I'll drive out to watch that one!!! :D :D :D
What a bunch of jackasses. I've seen bigger boats, length wise anyway, launch there. You just must not know the secret handshake. :D

You will be able to launch from Windsor north ramp no problem. I forget who it is, but the guy who has the condo in the channel that has the Skater also has your same boat and he launched and retrieved both of those there when I was out in October when it was REALLY WINDY.

How about the Nautical? Sure you could launch there, but retrieving is another deal. That ramp is steep & SLICK!

I plan on using the Nautical and then Windsor as a last resort. I know I could launch either place, actually Windsor may be safer than the Nautical.
I just cant believe that they would tell someone to use Site 6 with a boat my size.
When I asked him which to use, I was tolad Site 6 or Widsor, but then he said Site 6 would be a better place and it's free.
Let's see, I have a 37' boat, so "free" is important? I just wish people were smarter than they are.
I sure wish Ron and Jerry could work something out and build the ultimate marina. Between the 2 of them, they have enough $$ to buy the entire city, let alone put up a marina.

If it is slick, it will pull me in. It does a good job helping that truck down the ramp.

NO!
You may be able to launch...but forget retrieving it! (http://www.***boat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92547)
Windsor is much easier.

By the way, I modified the Nautical's ramp late last year. It was with the use of a special tool, and after about 10 mintues, I had pushed an 8' wide path of rocks further down about 6' from where they started.
You should also thank 40FlatDeck for his drive guard being that special tool and his power stroke producing the umph to get them push deeper. When I pulled the trailer out, it had rocks about 1' high on the back of trialer's diamond palte.
I have spent a ton of time on the Nautical ramp, including in the water walking the end of the ramp. There is a big hole in the middle with sand bags and rocks trying to fill it.
If the Nautical charged each guest an additional $5 who use the ramp, in less than 1 year, they would have more than enough funds to fix the ramp.

go to the marina (only place for that) and yes there is a duplicate to your boat moored at the springs same color and everything
if they give you a hassel....find Harry Finnley or Dave Gill(the guy that directs the ramps on the weekend) and tell them your my buddy;) ...it's good to be the Prez of their car club in Havasu;)

True, but it'll stop once the boat hits the water. My dad's #10,000er pulled us down the ramp but stopped once the boat hit the water and the weight came off the trailer.
As you mentioned, pulling out is another story.

I weigh 2X that amount. I dont think the water would even be enough.

That would be Greg & Lisa and their Formula is a 40 ft as is the Skater and both are launched at Windsor. I've helped them a few times and it's no problem, well maybe on a Saturday it would be tough. NSF PS>> Thanks Micheal for the product !! Bobby

I used the Nautical ramp this week and almost went somewhere else, and I was staying there. With all the construction its a mess down there and my boat is only 28. I think with all the dirt on the ramp you will never get it out, Windsor might be your best bet.

I'm not sure how long it has been like this(1st time at the Nautical) but I was told they are redoing the ramp. The road to the ramp is all dirt and near the ramp is all dirt. It seemed like dirt was being tracked onto the ramp from truck and trailor tires making it a little slick. Also wind was blowing dirt and sand everywhere last week, it wasnt a huge deal for me but my boat does not weigh 20,000 pounds. I just hate driving down dirt roads with the boat.

Ron Moyes owns Magic and Sleek Boats here in Havasu
and hib brother Jerry and him own the biggest portion of
Swift Trucking and Central Truck Lines in Texas or so I'm
told. I hadn't heard anything about them building a new
marina or launch ramp but I'm all for it. They just opened
the new marina at Powell called Antelope Marina and did
so today! Quite an undertaking to build an entire marina
from nothing. they're two that could get it done.
A new marina is what we need here. Amazing how fast
the old one would change it's ways if there was an alternative.

Keith is correct, they got something BIG built on Powell, Havasu should be cake.
Swift Trucking is a publically held company and Jerry is the majority shareholder.
Jerry also is the majority owner of the Phoenix Coyotes, owns Swift aviation (private jet charters), a minority owner of the AZ Diamondbacks, majority owner of a hotel/casino, and a few more to that list.
If Ron and Jerry could get something agreed upon, they have more than enough knowledge and financial clout to pull it off. It would kill the current marina and you would see some big changes to the current marina if these guys could make it happen.
Ron has been working on it for the past few year, but the red tape in town sucks. I would assume Jerry knows a few peeps at the state level so that would help as well. If these guys collectively try to do this, it would happen.
EDIT: I do believe Ron could pull this off by himself, actually, I know he can pull it off. However with Jerry involved, itwould be even bigger and probably get through the tape faster.

In talking with a person that is in the "know" i was told the plans for the new marina at or around Contact Point is in review by the state and is going to be a "state of the art" marina. God only knows how long it will be but it would make Windsor much more accessible. NSF
