Anyone know anything about the boat thats nose up agianst the rocks just before you enter the Narrows at Lake Mead if you are heading North? I saw it there on saturday and it appears to be a recent sink, all kinds of coolers and boat crap scattered on the rocks and than the boat pointed straight up in the water, only the bow showing.

So did you see rescue boats or other people helping? Or did you just see a boat ass down in the water surrounded by debris and boat right by?
No, this had to happen in less than a week. it wasnt fresh but fresh enough where they tired the boat to the shore with a yellow rope, i just want to know if anyone has any idea what happen?

Been there awhile I guess?
Good thing for low water, put some gas in'er and fire her up.
It's an outboard, it will be fine...

good thing centurion tunnel sold his boat. damn those caps always seperating:D . i really curious how long ago that thing wrecked and why it didnt every get removed. where abouts is this picklefork. it would be cool to go see it on the week of the fourth. not familer with mead at all. so i will need good directions. is this just the cap? i wonder if there is a reg tag on there that might tell us how long ago. i hope no one was hurt in that

I think it is the whole boat, just sitting there in the muck.
Good thing it was an outboard, no wonder the owner never raised it.

that picklefork has been there a LONG time...on another computer somewhere I have a pic of Mark--Titties&Beer, "driving" that sled :D
We took the pic 4th of July 2004 and I think the reg stickers were early-mid 90's??

Reason the boat was not raised was that it was probably in about 75+ feet of water when it went down. There is an old metal boat in Temple Bar bay that looks to date from the 50's that is at about the -90 foot line. Used to have a pic in my gallery but my old pics are gone.

that lake mead gets nasty when the storms kick up. turn ugly pretty quick. i wonder if this is what happened.

I cant believe nobody saw this boat I am refering too? Its a new wreck, like a week old tops.Saw the same bow bobbin at the west end of the narrows all weekend. It has been there since at least last Thursday when we arrived. Looks to be a small Bayliner type of boat. Ususally if it was an injury accident they would retrieve it. Its still floating!
We were in another cove by Calville heading onto a beach when we looked down in about 20ft of water and there was a boat. It looked like an old school 60's 15ft outboard. All in one piece. Sure its been there for years.
Also, there is a 40's era bomber at the north end of the Overton arm. Theres info the web about it. Lake is so low that these old wreckages were in really deep water years ago.

This is kind of wierd when my friend crashed his Bahner at Lake Mohave which kind of looked in the same condition as this the Cops would not let him leave until he got that boat out of the water or out of the lake and he had to get it on his trailer wierd how they would let this one sit here.

Here is a pic...
I do not know the story or anything. Just found the pic when I googled it. The pic was posted 6/6/07, so it is recent.
Caption below the pic read: "The most startling sight was this crashed boat. Only a couple of hours earlier we had seen a family pulling a tube behind this boat. When we arrived, they had apparently been rescued but the boat and all of their possessions were left behind. Although the boat was completed destroyed, it looked like the accident was survivable. A reminder of the need for boating safety ..."
