Heading up there from SoCal on numerous recommendations from other boaters. Even boaters we met at Don Pedro say Berryessa is not to be missed, so we're going for it, 4 days over the upcoming holiday week.
So, what's the best way to it from SoCal?
99 to Sacto and hang a left?
5 thru S.F. and straight up?
Secret route not found on Google?
It's going to be a 6-7 hour drive no matter how I cut it, E4L if you're out there, I know you know how to get there.
We're staying at Steele Park.
Thanks

whatever you do, avoid the freeways around the Bay Area and Sacto like the plague during commuter hour!!! We have all the cars of L.A. but instead of having 10 lane freeways we have 4
The route the guy mentioned should work.

Most people that boat at Berryessa are heading out of town this weekend.
I would repost this in the Hot Spots West Forum on Monday or Tuesday:idea: .
This post will be long gone by 5:00pm today in the sandbar...lol:D

I would take 5 to lodi then 12 west to fairfield/vacaville, should avoid most of the nasty traffic of Bay Area and Sac.

Thanks Buzzaro! That looks like the route I wanna take.
Given the choice, I usually drive the 99, even if the road is bumpier, it's a little bit better drive.
We'll be on the water Sunday July 1st thru the 4th.
