OK Sportdeck owners...who's got the fastest one? Please post some on the water numbers and maybe some pics!
Please disregard the similar post in the Sandbar forum.....

Well the news is the Teague 900 powered deck hit about 102-3. That is moving for a deck boat or any other hull type.
Haven't heard any other 28 Sportdecks with bigger power or faster numbers.
I believe all the HP600 decks are in the high 80's to 90 mph.

Wonder if the owner of the Teague 900 Sportdeck posts here? It would be great to get some pics and what kind of prop he is running.

Thats it. I had front row seats to watch Teague doing some speed passes in it. Looks like it runs hard. I took some pictures of it in the water but they're on my g/f's camera. I'll try to get them later.

Yes that is the Malloy boat out of Logan NM. I have numerous photos of that boat.
HD yes they will probably get 105 out of it. Beautiful boat inside and out. HD aren't you running mid to high 80's.
DJunkie---I would like to see water photos--- as the ones I have are on the trailer.
No one else seems to chime in on this thread----It would be nice to hear more speed stories even if your running mild to moderate power.
Anyone know how long it took them to get that speed????? half the lake--mile--- couple miles?????

Nope. Powerboat, September 2006 issue, tested the Sportdeck with the 525 at 82.3 @ 5350 RPM.

All #'s below with full fuel tanks, ice chest, 12 life jackets, etc, etc, (you get the picture) and a
4 Blade 28" prop. (I don't know what kind of 28, it's just what they guy gave me with the boat)
Nov '06

Cargo: 4 Adults
Top Speed: 91

June '07

I'm hoping to do some prop testing this winter. There is another write up that says they turned this
motor (TPI700) at 6200 RPM. I think that I might see 92 or 93 out of it but that's it.
Hopefully I might hold second place for a while, who knows. :)

That's a gorgeous ride. We actually contacted Gene a few weeks ago about it when the deal on our boat started. He said they were getting ready to drop a 525 in it any day and had all the parts ready to go. Since I want a Mag/Ho, and I wasn't gonna buy that one 'til mine was confirmed sold, we had to pass on it. It is a great lookin' ride and would look bitchen with an all white interior....

The best we have seen with ours is 66mph with the 496HO and stock 24P prop. We always have at least 2 adults, 3 kids, and tons of crap. 66mph with 2,000lbs of crap is pretty good. We'll be out there this weekend going 66mph all day long with tons of crap. Nick

That's it Dan. Thor, you could own a near new 28 Bullet that'll do 85mph or I keep the motor and drive and you can choose power. If I do the deck boat deal as a trade-in, Gene and Mike will put a 525 in it and sell it at a very low cost. PM me for more details. You'd love this boat! It tears across rough water!

All I can say is this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,after spending two full weeks at powell with my 28 Bullet and an 848 we had an awesome time and caught close to 50 Bass!.........BUT, my wife really wants more room in the boat. She would like to see the Taylor family move to a Sportdeck. She has been on me since they came out.
If, and only if we were to go that route it would have to be fast,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,very fast:D and reliable of course, so the HP couldnt be any more than 1200 or so:D :) :D ..............................I can't imagine letting this orange bullet go, so it's only a thought and a consideration right now.
By the way Kap, I would like to see you hold the title for a while, so I might have to "hop" you up a bit. But it is REALLY hot out there in the desert right now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so no one will be laying down any decent numbers until it cools off a bit.

TPI:
I will hopefully hold the title safe for you as soon as we get r done. The current mark is 102-3 a nice benchmark for any single engine boat.
Glad you had a great time at Powell:D .
Our family loves V-Bottoms but the space afforded by a Sportdeck is more family oriented. I think if your Bullet were an open bow you'd be pretty satisfied. I know how hard it is to throw a box anchor in a closed bow boat and retrieve it---no bueno.
Plus, a Sportdeck with a TPI motor and you can haul the family around pretty quick or just hammer it with a solo passenger.
Kinda the best of both worlds.
I will see you this week hope you have some bass photos :) :) .

P.S. The Orange Bullet is your "Signature" kinda hard to get away from that Beauty.

How many of you "Sportdeck guys" are running the passenger forward facing seat vs. the L-lounge. On of the things that make DB's so attractive, to me, is the open floor space.
Not to take away from all the speed talk, I'm just curious.

We have the passenger seat facing forward. To my knowledge Howard has not sold a Sportdeck with the "L" shaped lounge yet. We still have room and it is nice when you are riding in the passenger seat to be able to look straight ahead instead of turning your head to see where you are going.

TheCarDudes

We have the passenger seat facing forward. I really think that it is one of the biggest selling points of the boat. Too many of the other DB's don't even offer it as an option. I also think it is a great combination of typical deep-v interior layout for the cockpit matched up with the roomy feel of a wide deck boat.
When we did our shopping , we absolutely started from inside the boat. I have to say that Magic was a close contender due to the style and layout. When the deal on this Howard fell in to my lap, the decision was made. ;)

'Splain to me how a 700 hp motor only goes 85 in that hull when Powerboat got 80+ on a box stock HP525 with an open bow hull? Something doesn't jive? Maybe the Lavey boys want to add their $0.01 worth? Or perhaps don't pollute this thread.

Simple dude....
I've never propped for top end. The 85mph is acheived with a stock, unlabbed prop in a boat fully loaded. Test boats that are run by pros and are completely empty with about 10 gallons of fuel. Who cares what the guys at Lavey think?
