While on the way down river Saturday it looked like the Federallys were setting up a sun shade just south of the gas pipe lines. They had a couple of sit down Sea-do's and about 4 or 5 guys, also saw a couple of LE boats on the way up river. I have heard of them setting up shop in that area before just wondering if they had another Check point. If so I hope nobody got popped.

I think if any one was drinking and driving there boat they should be popped... If you have to drink to have fun on the water you shoud just stay by the pool.
Just my 2 cents

I think it's more like boating is a bad idea if you're drinking anytime, anywhere.

We went through that checkpoint yesterday... looked like they were stopping everyone. No one on our boat had been drinking and we had all of our safety equipment so we had no problem. Ran into a guy at Jack Smith that had been rolled at the checkpoint for a .10 but they cut him loose with a citation and let one of his passengers drive the boat back to the ramp.
Saw one guy in an older yellow Hallett daycruiser that took off when the deputies on jet skis tried to direct him into the checkpoint -- he actually cut between two of them as he was trying to evade them. He was being escorted back into the checkpoint just as we were leaving, and the guys on the skis were *pissed*. We thought for sure he was going to jail but saw him later that evening on the water. Anyone know the story?

We were watching the follies at the Moabi launch ramp yesterday (thats another story, pictures to follow!), everyone comming in got pulled over, they had a few they were busting for drunk, but they wrote up quite a few comming in for safty equiptment, the throw cushion was the big item, and life jackets, claiming it was $140 ticket. Douche bags.....

Who??? The cops for doing their job, or the boaters for not having the required safety equipment???

I personally dont think that there is a problem with having a few cold ones and then driving 2 or 3 hours later. hell the last time I was out I had 10 beers and we left 3 hours later. I wasnt even buzzed:mad: but then again I wasnt driving either :D 460 was and he only had a 3 beers. Its the idiots that get smashed and drive! Now that is retarded:yuk: If you have 3 beers in a 5-6 hour period, I dont think you will be impaired. Then again I always have a healthy meal before i have any drinks;) drinking on an empty stomache will help you get drunk and sick:yuk:
Just my .000000000000000002 cents :D
