I need some advice. I recent bought a 2005 Essex with 28hrs on it. I took it out for the first time this weekend and had the engine not start twice on me. The 1st time it did not kick over I had to hit the red reset button on the engine and it kicked over the 2nd time the reset button did not reset so I let it sit for about 10mins and then it kicked over. So any thoughts?
Thanks,
Aqua Man

I am assuming you are in nuetral. I know this is a little too obvious but the first time I did this I thought somthing was wrong. Even if it is a little bit off you will not get anything when turning the key.

My 496 is a 2003 and I had the same thing about 6 times in the first 2 years but never found the problem since then I have put over 100 hours on the motor with out having to rest it.

the red button is a curcuit breaker (I know I cant't spell)....It may have got hot with the previous owner and messed it up...a new one would be the easy solution....there is a reason its popping, thats why it is there...something is probably grounding out somewhere.....hot wire touching metal...something. It doesn't cost much to take it to a merc dealer and have them run the computer diognostic, that would probably show if there is a short or a wireing problem.....

I had issues with the fuel pump relays. I hated that motor. Why do you need two fuel pumps?

Thanks for everyone that provided advise. I contacted Arron yesterday and he will have a look at it. Lets hope he finds the problem and gets it fixed. I will keep everyone posted on the outcome.

Well just talked with Arron and he states he can not find anything wrong with it. So now what?
