So I got a little bored at work the other day and decided that this Halon Fire Extinguisher from a 747-100 Cargo plane would make a great BBQ. List price? Only $18K... :D
About an hour of torching and grinding, a trip to Home Depot for some Weber grates and there you have it... The only BBQ in town with 8130 certification!

That's freakin cool! Creativity at its finest...Some hinges and a handle and you got er made! Are you going to install a temp gauge? A piece of high temp glass and a oven light in it would be cool!
Awsome idea!
We just put a 1300 lb rock crusher liner in the back yard as a fire pit / BBQ. I still need to build the grate and make it adjustable for height. The damn thing is 5' across and 2' deep in the center. We chewed through a cord and a half in one night on the 15th. My bud has one and we burn poplar for about 4 hours then fill it with charcoal. Great strip loins!
Others have got to have unique BBQ's that they can post pics of. I'll post a pic of the contraption when I get home form work in a week or two!

Ingenuity at its best...and a one-of-a-kind. How many people can claim to have an $18,000 bbq? :D

The good thing is that it will put itself out if the fire gets out of control...

As an Aerospace parts broker this really disturbs me... as long as it wasnt BER, I could have sold that for you! But know you have my mind working, I've got a whole shipset of those for an MD83 in the warehouse. Also trying to figure out what cool stuff I can make out of this Thrust Reverser :)

No worries my man, picked up a truckload of these bad boys for practically nothing. We robbed the Halon and we're done... the market's flooded with these things. Must be 898150's outa that MD80... Let me know what you want for em if they're taking up space.
In the mean time if you ever have a customer that wants bottles like these certified, give me a holler. We also do Oxygen and pneumatic cylinder/valve assemblies and hand-held extinguishers. **phew** glad im still at work ;)
